I'd also like to put a plate cover for my 155cc scooter. But that annoying rule keeps me from doing so.

ditto for those uber-bright LED conversions, and those headlights that can not seem to go lo-beam.
on another note,
shouldn't there be a law against the use of red or green lights at the upper sides of panel trucks and container vans?
kung mamalasin kasi, it interferes with one's perception of the green-ness and red-ness of stoplights at night.

December 12th, 2024 05:14 PM #583the previous owner of my innova, put in a plastic clear plate cover. over the years, the cover collected dirt and prevented its being scraped away by the cleaners.
i finally decided to remove the "clear" cover and make the plate read-able again.
but i must confess, that cover did its job. the plate's surface was as pristine as new, once i wiped the dirt off.Last edited by dr. d; December 12th, 2024 at 05:26 PM.

I saw those as well. I believe it will fit most non-Honda cars but, the price tho... 1.5k for the pair.
As an alternative to the frame, I'm also looking for a good backing plate that can at least wrap around the plate number enough to cover just the sharp edges. No luck yet.

Gamit namin Deflector brand for four- and two-wheel vehicles. Two pieces na 'to, the back plate cover and the front clear cover.

December 13th, 2024 01:57 PM #590Took plate frame off briefly when this law went into effect years ago. After a while (and several instances of the plate getting bent) I just put it back. Never naman nahuli.
I don't get why they want to ban it. Protects the plate, protects pedestrians. I saw a college kid with torn trousers and a bloody leg after getting caught on a car plate.
Though not on a people carrier like the Innova, I have Yokohama es32 equipped on my Sylphy since...
