    about the roof rack.
i fail to see the logic in requiring its registration.

same with tow hitches. although, i appreciate its potential destructiveness. it is a de facto battering ram.

I like the idea kung may abg tatargetin nila is yung mga may spotlight na naka ilaw sa gabi.
They are targetting those with off road kits since they know those people have moolah.

Just look at lto east ave.

Pati wheel modification with AT tires sinisita na. Kotong mode lto nito.

    Eto ang masaya.

    As Quoted

The basis of their imposition is the amendment to the Philippine Land Transportation and Traffic Code (Republic Act 4136). A reading of the rule however shows that the restrictions with respect to rim change pertains to dump trucks.
    Section 5.2 reads:

5.2 The modifications involving safety and environment shall not be allowed, such as the following: axle modification, chassis modification, extended chassis/ body, additional sidings of dump trucks, extended overhang, change of rim size, modification of handlebar and muffler, and reconfiguration of body dimension and design.

Under the rules on statutory construction particularly the
rule on ejusdem generis, it is a well-established rule that a particular
section of a statute or a rule shall not be divorced from the rest of
    the act.
In other words, the ejusdem generis (or eiusdem generis,
Latin for "of the same kind") rule applies to resolve the problem of
giving meaning to groups of words where one of the words is
ambiguous or inherently unclear. Since the context of the cited law pertains to a particular type of vehicle, the rule can be confined to dump trucks. Thus, SUVs and other vehicles of other nature may not be covered.

I hope LTO will revisit this new policy all for the best interest of the public .

[emoji35]

That is a self-serving way of interpreting the law.

The way I read it, inclusion lang ang dump truck. In all other respects, it applies to any vehicle.

The rule encompasses "modifications involving safety and environment", which is definitely not limited to dump trucks. But what is relevant to dump trucks is that extending the sidings of a dump truck opens it up for overloading, instability, as well as the possibility of objects falling off if the sidings fail and cause them to strike other vehicles or pedestrians. So hence, it has been included as an illegal modification.

Self serving?

Kailangan pa silang turoan ng huhulihin nila about AT tires and wheel upgrades.
