License Restriction Code Guide Question [MERGED]

May tanong ako tungkol sa restriction codes ng Philippine Drivers' License.
Here are the restrictions code to familirize:

1. Motorcycle
2. Vehicle up to 4500 kilograms G V W
3. Vehicles above 4500 kilograms G V W
4. Automatic Clutch up to 4500 kilograms G V W
5. Automatic Clutch above 4500 kilograms G V W
6. etc
7. etc
8. etc

anyway ang tanong ko ay tungkol sa restriction code 2. If I have a license with restriction code 2 only, p'wede ba akong mag-drive ng car (kotse) na automatic?

technically hindi and pwede ka hulihin (modus operandi ito ng mga lespu lalo na kung driver ay babae) , but you can always argue and reason put that its a lot easier to drive an automatic than a manual one. Its a known fact that if you can drive a car with manual transmission you can drive an automatic one but not the other way around.:D

so by the book, restriction code ko dapat ay 4 to drive an A/T car?
or
if i do drive M/T and A/T cars (both), dapat ba 2,4 ang restriction code ng license ko?

even your restriction code is 2, you can drive A/T also , basta you can always argue pag-nahuli pag ganito ang violation, but if your code is 4 and you were caught driving a M/T wala kang lusot. For your peace of mind palagay mo na lang na code mo sa license is 2,4 sama mo na rin yung 1 in case you'll drive a motrocycle or a scooter in the future.

actually may napublish na article sa inquirer nyan noon dun sa motoring section.
pag may restriction 2 ka superseded na yung restriction 4 kaya pwede ka magdrive ng matic.

afaik ang di pwede yung restriction 4 ka tapos drive mo manual

tanga ang pulis pag sinabi nya na di pwede mag drive ng a/t vehicle under 4500 kg gross vehicle weight ang may restriction code na "2."

dami na kong nasigawang pulis dahil jan. :twisted:

basta wag ka lang mag violate ng traffic rul para di masita, di naman malaman ng lespu kung A/T or M/T ang ride mo.

pwede ka mag drive ng matic.

tinanong ko na yan sa LTO, sabi sa akin kung meron daw pulis, mmda o sino man na magbigay ng ticket kung restriction code 2 license mo at matic dala mo, kunin mo lang daw name ng pulis/mmda/kups at sigurado wala ka babayaran na fee at yun pulis/mmda/kups na yun e mag-seminar sa kanila ng isang linggo.

oxymoron naman kung pwede ka mag-drive ng manual tapos di pwede ang matic.

pag restriction 4 ka at manual ang dala mo, yun ang violation. di ka pwede mag-drive ng manual pag restriction 4 license mo

share ko na rin kung bakit ko naitanong, dahil 'yong friend ko nung dec 24 ganito ang nangyari.

'yong ride niya ay A/T, tapos maggo-grocery siya that night, nung magpa-park na siya sa harap ng grocery, for some reasons nagkamali siya dun sa shift stick kung naka-'P' or 'D'. so ang nangyari nailagay pala niya sa 'D' at nabangga niya ang mga cart sa grocery. 'yong mga cart ay dun talaga nakalagay. ang problema umandar 'yong mga cart at bumangga sa salamin ng grocery (hindi yata shattered proof ang salamin) at nabasag ang salamin. additional problem is that may mga bata sa area na binagsakan ng salamin at isa dun ay kaialangang dalhin sa hospital, mga iba minor cuts lang.

so nag-report sa pulis ang friend ko, eto na ngayon ang arguement sa restriction code ng driver's license.

ngayon open pa rin case, dahil the police may use the reason that restriction code 2 might be used against him driving a A/T car.

hindi naman yun ang kaso ng friend mo e. in any case may criminal and civil case na pala naka-file so watchamacallit? moot na yun case ng restriction sa driver's license nya.

ang kaso na nya ngayon ay serious property damage and several counts of physical injuries due to negligence. no matter what pa yun restriction sa DL nya, guilty na siya kasi siya may hawak ng manibela e.

di naman nya pwede sabihin dun sa judge na patawarin siya kasi kala nya P e D pala. ignorance of the position of your gear stick is not an excuse to breaking the glass, este the law pala hehehe! bayaran na lang nya para wala na kaso.
