apparently all the vehicles to be used by the composite teams of the lto, the pnp, & the mmda for the anti-drunk driving checkpoint would be fitted w/ dashcams

marami ang mouthpiece ng breathalyzer kit nila. puro siya disposable at pwede din pala hindi gumamit ng mouthpiece for the "passive test" daw. the subject of the test would just have to blow into a specific area of the breathalyzer and it will determine if the person has alcohol in his system or not.

but w/o the mouthpiece, it won't be able to determine the exact amount of alcohol in the driver's system so indispensable pa din iyong mouthpiece

i gathered those tidbits last night from pia hontiveros' show at solar news channel

btw, each breathalyzer kit is estimated pala to cost a cool 100k/ unit. kaya kinukulit kagabi ni hontiveros baka overpriced nanaman niyan sa bidding

    * baludoy - extract from the MMDA news " The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Thursday said that starting March 12, it would begin using "alcohol breath analyzer" tests on motorists suspected to be driving under the influence of alcohol."

naku LTO na naman... tutoo kayang nakabili na silang "alcohol breath analyzer" o baka naman ilong na lang ng enforcer ang gagamitin as breath analyzer sa lacheng na driver!

" According to the LTO, non-professional drivers found with blood alcohol content (BAH) exceeding 0.05 percent will be penalized, while for professional drivers it's 0.01 percent BAH. "

" LTO spokesperson Jason Salvador said a professional driver who will be found to be driving under the influence of alcohol will have his driver’s license suspended for 12 months. A professional driver meanwhile who is driving a public utility vehicle will have his license to drive revoked should it be proven that he is guilty of drunk driving."

" Under Republic Act 10586, drivers who injure others while driving under the influence of alcohol must pay a fine of P20,000 to P80,000 and face imprisonment for three months. "

" Meanwhile, drunk drivers who figure in fatal accidents will face a maximum prison term of 20 years and will be made to pay a fine of between P300,000 and P500,000. "

We must read and understand carefully the provision, professional license " if you are driving a public utility vehicle " and yung malalaking fines eh kapag meron kang aksidenteng nasangkutan while drunk driving
