I'm planning to buy a second hand honda civic, the problem is that the seller did not transfer the civic to their name. All they have is a signed deed of sale from the first owner selling the car to them.

My question is: when i'll transfer the civic to my name, will LTO recognize their old deed of sale? I'll be submitting 2 deed of sales? Is this the correct procedure? thanks in advance

that's not a problem. the LTO will recognize that, it happens all the time. you'll have 2 deed of sale. as long as you have the notarized deed of sale and the papers are all okay. make sure you have a copy of id of the previous owner(1st owner).

hep hep... bago mo bilhin, bigyan mo na lang ng mga 5k (higher or lower depending on the selling price) yung seller para sa transfer of ownership, along with your

    good luck!

And you will really need the current ID or ID's of the current registered owner.

In the end, pera - pera pa rin.

Parang mataas sobra yung 5k.

HTH.

    1. Its OK to transfer the ownership of the car with 2 deeds of sale. You just have to pay for the penalty for the the older deed of sale dahil may duration lang ang ito (I'm not sure pero baka 3 months lang). Just make sure na doon sa deed of sale ay may photocopies ng ID's of both the seller and the buyer

    2. leonleon is correct, pwede mo isabay yung transfer of ownership sa renewal. I paid 2k dun sa naglakad ng papers ko. transfer of ownership kasi has 2 parts. PNP for clearance (to determine kung carnap yan) and LTO.
Whats good kasi with paying somebody is you don't have to bring the car (kung well connected yug taga lakaf=d mo )

Is your unit under chattel mortgage?...so under financing na acquire ng 1st owner yun unit?...If it's the case you have to cancel the chattel mortgage first where this is executed (usually indicated in the mortgage, sa registry of deeds) if it's canceled already then you may apply for the PNP clearance, after this then LTO office where the CR is registered...just be sure your deed of sales and ID's of vendor and vendee plus CTPL are in place.

For 5K that's way to much to have him process your documents, if I were you I'd personally run the procedure, these are legal documents and I would not want to trust a stranger handling this. HTH and good luck.

Mga boss, I have a related question.
