Rules on commemorative plates issued

DETACH all commemorative plates if not properly installed!
The order was issued yesterday by Transportation and Communications Assistant Secretary and Land Transportation Office Chief Alberto “Bert” Suansing in the wake of reports that lawless elements have been using these plates to escape arrest by the police.

Suansing, in his Administrative Order No. AHS-2008-13, said the commemorative plate shall not be superimposed over the regular plate.
He said the commemorative plates shall be installed in front of a motor vehicle either at the right side or left side of the regular plate.

Suansing stressed that the regular plate shall be maintained in the space provided for the purpose. Removal thereof shall be deemed a violation.
Suansing said no commemorative plate shall be installed at the rear of a motor vehicle.

Placing the commemorative plate at the rear of the vehicle shall be strictly prohibited and penalized accordingly.

He added that the commemorative sticker must be posted in the upper right hand corner of the windshield. The regular validating windshield sticker, however, shall be pasted at the left upper side of the front windshield.

Does any one know any ruling regarding driving a new vehicle which has pending plates to be issued by LTO? Bawal din ba gamitin?

Hehehe.... ayos ito.... dalawa ang plaka mo sa unahan ng sasakyan.... E, papaano mo isasabit ang iyong commemorative plate? Malamang, wala ng gumamit ng commemorative plate nito....

Mga nagpapatupad ng batas trapiko,- gawin ninyo namang makatotohanan ang inyong trabaho... Baka after a month lang,- dating gawi na ulit kayo....

We are happy and proud to announce that we now have our very own UST Commemorative Car Plate. We have been working on this for several months now with the UST Administration and the Land Transportation Office (LTO).

Now that all permits and contracts have been signed and approved, the UST Commemorative Car Plates are now available for advance ordering.

The UST Commemorative Car Plate is for sale to all UST Alumni and Students, Employees and Friends. It is available in Standard Plate (a standard name is printed on the plate) and Personalized Plate (you may have your own name printed on the plate, but still subject to LTO’s and UST’s approval). Prices are as follows : Php 2,000 for Standard Plate and Php 2,500 for Personalized Plate.

These plates are valid all over the Philippines, and may also be sent overseas but only as souvenir items. Shipping cost would also vary, depending on the destination. Validity period of the car plate is one (1) year from date of approval by the LTO (exact date shall be confirmed within 2 weeks).

At this point, we are taking this survey to identify how many among those interested in ordering the car plates prefer the following standard plate names:

1. THOMASIAN
2. TOMASINO
3. ENGINEER

We shall post the car plate design only as soon as its production has been finished already, this is due to copyright issues. The car plates may be available by the end of May.

You may place your advance orders now, especially for personalized plates wherein the name approval shall be on a first come, first served basis.

Part of the proceeds shall be donated to the Quadricentennial Fund, for the celebration of UST’s 400 years of excellence in quality education, in the year 2011. Mabuhay ang Tomasino!

if i had known na ganyan pala dapat ang pagkabit ng comm plate, di na ko nagpagawa. hassle masyado! 2 times na ko nahuli dahil jan, pa-iba -iba sila ng ruling ng pagkabit. before, pwede yung plate sa ilalim ng comm plate tapos ngayon side by side naman! ano ba yun? sinong tanga gagawa nun? kalokohan!

it's been asked countless of times, there's no such thing as exempted from coding, unless siguro red plate ka.

taas, baba, kaliwa o kanan...iba-iba, check na lang latest memorandum na posted previously. ang importante, hindi pinapatungan yong regular plate.

no sense na talaga kumuha ng commemorative plate ngayon, hassle lang. IMO.
