umiikot ang hosting ng apec. each year may apec member ang magho-host. this year tayo naka assgin mag host.
The last Apec held here was in 1996 during Ramos admin. Kung umiikot yang hosting, from today until 1996 is 19 years and there are 32 member countries. so simple math tell's you meron pang 13 countries na hindi pa naghost. Bakit tayo nakakadalawa na yung iba hindi pa nakapag host, kung hindi yabang lang? The gov't spending 10B when where is the ROI. Ang sabi nilang justification, it will pull investors. Ang pota, who will invest when your electric cost is the highest in Asia, your traffic is a mess, infrastructures , corruption is all goverment agencies are lucking etc.. They have heard it time and again sa mga investors in so many years ago up to now, yet the same problem exist.

Did a quick check... 21 member economies but only 19 are countries (HK and Taiwan are not considered countries, but rather as "economies"). All 18 other countries have hosted since 1996.

BTT: Dry run daw later on EDSA SB 2pm and 10pm. Good luck!

Will the brand new orange traffic barriers be put to good use after APEC summit? Baka pwedeng gamitin to block off the bus lane, lagyan lang ng gap before/after intersections.

And may i ask why they are not a country when they have their own flag and leaders. HK is a Special Administrative Region and has it's own economy separate from China. Yet E in Apec stood for Economy.

read on twitter that they also plan to close several sidestreets around the areas. In particular the streets around Century Park Sheraton: Quirino, Adriatico, MH del Pilar, etc.

After the Paris terrorist attacks, expect the police here to be extra praning next week.

Is there a chance APEC summit will be cancelled because of the Paris attack?

i doubt it...but i'm guessing a few delegates may back out, and expect our PNP to be extra paranoid. They initially said cellphone signal won't be cut/jammed, but after this anything's possible.

Am thinking about transport options as well, malamang mag MRT na lang, then walk/commute the rest of the way. Damay din ba ang MRT/LRT sa stop-go traffic scheme?

not "extra paranoid," i think, daming nang namatay dun eh. paranoia only when the threat is purely IMAGINED. to be FAIR to our security forces, i think the APPROPRIATE term is EXTRA CAUTIOUS.

Sabi daw sa news kasama sa stop-go traffic yung MRT/LRT. Basta kng may dumaan na convoy ng delegate sa baba, ihihintu yng LRT/MRT.
