Philippine Airlines may cancel more flights as new information comes in on the flight movements of APEC leaders.
Philippine Airlines :: PAL cancels over 200 flights in relation to APEC Meet in Manila; offers free flight rebooking
Came from the NAIA 2 this morning wala naman traffic.

Read these tweets from *ANCALERTS. A bit cryptic:
"From PNP-HPG:
AFFECTED WHOLE DAY, Nov. 17: EDSA from Ayala Blvd Makati to EDSA Extn Pasay; and
NAIA Rd to Roxas Blvd."
"At 11:25 AM all vehicles from the south taking SLEX should divert to C5. Magallanes complex will be closed...(cont.) "
"(cont.) Likewise, vehicles going south to SLEX should divert also to C5. #APEC2015"
I left my office at 4pm, got to New Manila at 4:30.
Ngayon naman from New Manila to Pasig, left at 9:20 and arrived 9:45.
This was EDSA southbound at 4pm though:
No movement from Makati until Santolan.

500 policemen, fire trucks camped outside Baclaran church in preparation for Lumad rally
To each his own, but I kinda find this in poor taste.
Although it is inconvenient, this APEC thing has been planned for quite a while so anticipation helps. I woke up earlier to go to work, we scheduled company meetings, etc. (my friend who works at an affected area left his home at 4am to get to work on time). For now, it's already here and safety and security is a primary concern if you ask me. If something happens, this will have a long term impact on our country and even the region.
Well carlos celdran has done nothing but complain even before the damaso event. This to him is just being him. But yes, APEC has been planned and there were several announcements made for us to prepare for this. Sadya lang siguro talagang maraming matigas ang ulo at di nagpaplano ng ayos. Sana laging bukas ilaw nila para di na sila dumami pa.

Agree it was planned but in a terrible manner. Kung baga, nag aral na nga, bagsak pa din. The mind set ng gobierno, "nagbabala na kami, bahala na kayo". Basta nasabi na nila, get out of the metro and go to the province and have a vacation. They came out with No work days for goverment & private, that does not include Monday, and there it was obvious. The goverment only computed their expense of 10B, but never included the effect to everyone.
Why does it have to done in Manila rather than in Subic + Clark ? Metro manila alone has about 12-15 million people to be affected not including the nearby provinces while Clark + Subic , the most you can affect is 2.5million and that does not include at the NAIA & Ports effects. Now the ports are stuck and just like CVT stated, it's going to be another port mess all over again.
The goverment has a lot of option but they chose the worse option.

About having it here in Manila, yes it was the worst option, and agree na this government leaves a lot to be desired pagdating sa event na ito. Given the additional security implemented due to the Paris attacks e the best they could have done was to declare the entire APEC week as a non work week na lang. But still we were warned and many chose to ignore it. Ako hindi ko na talaga pinapasok mga anak ko this week para wala ng hassle sa kanila ang worry on my part.

Telling militant groups not to rally? It's almost like a dare.
While the government did do a lot of advanced warning, esp sa social media, i think they downplayed the impact on traffic a lot. Pag me umangal e baka masira pa yung plano. How does it go? It's easier to ask forgiveness than to get permission.
On the other hand, you don't need to be a traffic expert, engineer etc to predict what kind of chaos closing off major roads, or limiting usable lanes will cause.
Humirit ata yung private businesses na wag gawing entire week na walang trabaho; i wonder if they were able to operate normally with the traffic chaos though. They can force people to go to work all they want...but do you think the guys who walked home in the wee hours can show up for work today?
