Most of these bad habits eh "nakasanayan na", mga turo pa siguro ng magulang. Just like anything na turo ng magulang or nakasanayan na, mahirap kumbinsihin sila na mali iyon at dapat baguhin.

I agree, bad habit na tinuro nang nakakatanda na mali din pala.

Using nunh hazard at yung flashing when doing something wrong yun sobrang nakaka-asar.

On zero visibility, if your cars are equipped with rear fog lights, use them. These can be seen far more better.

It will take great efforts to unlearn wrong driving practices which are already deeply-rooted in the Pinoy driver. While we are at it, might as well update the "road code" to a more comprehensive one. Pansin ko yung mga pinoint-out ni Deakin ni wala nga dito eh:
Republic Act No. 4136 | Official Gazette of the Republic of the Philippines

    AFAIK
follow lights at a signalized intersection
in the absence of lights, give way rules apply/prevail
TE/police officer directing traffic at intersection prevails over lights and give way rules

IMHO hindi siya bad habit either good habit pa kase binibigyan mo ng warning yung ibang road users either pedestrian or motor vehicle na gusto mo umatras para alam nila at aware sila kase mahirap na baka sabihin nila pag naatrasan mo sila na hindi mo sila nainform, pananagutan mo sila.

In one sense, it's correct. It shows that your vehicle in particular is a hazard to others since it is not moving in the same direction as the traffic at the same speed. It also makes the car more visible when it is backing up into traffic from its parking spot. But it isn't necessary at all times, and it doesn't excuse you from exercising due diligence when backing up onto the road.

Personally, I prefer parking facing out. Don't need to use the hazards or a parking boy to leave the spot then. Thankfully, as we've come a long way since the smoggy 70's, fewer and fewer establishments and guards enforce the stupid "park facing wall" rule, anymore.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

beats the purpose of the reverse lights being wired into the reverse gear. pag umilaw ang reverse lights it means naka-reverse ang gear at paatras ang takbo nito. besides, pag nasa parking lot ka expect vehicles to move in all directions: forward, back, left or tumble over LOL.

we have to remember that when we back up, we don't have right of way. that is why it is a good idea to use our lights, and, more important, to wait for someone to give us the opportunity to back up..

    hahaha, ayup gid.

BTT: My take is that like dr. d, soeone bacing should exercise patience in a sense na ikaw nakikiusap na pasingitin ka sa regular flow of traffic kasi your backing up.
