For my 2.7 vvti, my first fill-up was Shell Unleaded and every succeeding fill-ups is now Petron Xtra Unleaded.
In other countries like Singapore and Thailand, they have 2.7 vvti with 4x4.
I wish they did, but unfortunately in reality that will never happen.

Ang sabi dun sa nabasa ko kapag SUV safe ka hanggang step board. Anything higher than that is not advisable already.

I think even an Isuzu Elf will have a hard time with the kind of floods in Araneta or Banawe. What you need to cross that is either an amphibious vehicle, ten wheeler truck, Bus, or the army's transport truck! :D

The tail pipe is approx 16 inches from the ground. IMO, that should serve as the limitation on how you would want to run the Fortuner. You are right though, since 16 inches from the ground roughly submerges the Fortuner's running boards. Although you can make it traverse higher than that but it is risky from there. See the above link.
Getting a toyota would be ideal mostly for those looking for practicality or one who will use it...
