January 3rd, 2010 05:02 PM #3783I was wondering lang bakit walang fortuner dito sa australia
dto po kasi work ko..meron sila toyota kluger but its bigger than the fort.even the look mas malaki sya. Kasi prado at land cruiser meron sila and likewise sa pinas.
Any input about this? Curious lng po na baka ang toyota kluger ang lumabas sa atin as new fortuner?

ganyan talaga ang market... some countries only offer limited items, while others offer all the line-ups...
i remember when i visited Vietnam (for work), ang dami ko nakikitang Innova... so i was expecting marami ring Fortuner... kaso, nakakailang bilang na ko ng mga 4runner, nakaka 3 pa lang akong Fortuner na nakikita (to think mas mura ang Fort kesa sa 4runner)... saka meron din silang 2 versions ng Camry, one is the ASEAN, one is US-look... it's odd, pero parang mas ok para may mapili yung mga customers nila... marketing strategy kumbaga...
toyota offers a lot of entries for every SUV category... sa mid-size, iba ang Fortuner sa Kluger/Highlander sa 4runner sa Prado sa LC70... so kung maglalabas man ng bagong Fort, definitely it will only adopt the design ques of the said vehicles, but not to replace each one... may kanya-kanya silang target market kahit nasa iisang category sila... nasa demand lang ng product kung mag-o-offer ang manufacturer...
IMO, Toyota Australia is offering a lot of SUVs... kung man ipasok nila ang Fortuner, baka magkaroon ng cannibalism with the 4runner... parang sa Europe din, wala din silang Fortuner, pero meron silang Hilux...

January 7th, 2010 11:00 AM #3786Just got my new Fort 3.0V 4x4 D4D Lithuim last Jan. 2nd. So far wala namang problems as per what other tsikoteers posted before. Only, my wife said that the brake seems to be not that responsive. We were thinking of buying the 2.5G 4X2 but the dealer said it had defect and they need to repair it first, and the only avialable was the 4x4. And after reading the thread here, I think we made the right decision

January 12th, 2010 10:38 AM #3789Am planning to install momo wood rimmed steering wheel on my Fortuner, just want to ask any tech savvy guys out there if it will cause any problems with the computer because it checks the condition of the airbag system during start-ups. I just want the look and feel of "real" wood. Any suggestions or warnings will be very helpful, thanks in advance guys.
My unit's an 05, so I guess it won't affect the warranty.
