It says in the Toyota website, that the Vios J has no alarm nor any key fob.

    SECURITY
TVSS (Toyota Vehicle Security System) Without
    Wireless Doorlock Without

    *JJFF

Does your key fob look like this? (Note: The one on the Vios does not have the red button or panic button).

If not, then its aftermarket dealer installed or something.
hindi ganyan sir. aftermarket lang...pero free na ng dealer kaya walang wenta

^no discount na ngayon. Supplies are allegedly short bec. of the Japan "crisis".

Even before the crisis, the J sells very well so supply has always been tight. Even discounts before, were less than the E or G variants.

An honest, practical car that provides good value for money, at the expense of being part of the flock due to the sheer number of similar vehicles on the road.

I just noticed na yung mga taxi na bagong model ng vios, laging naka-semi bukas yung harapan? is it because to prevent over heat sa makina or madaling masira yung lock?

To prevent overheat bro. Not that Vios is a prone to overheat, it just the taxi was used almost 24 hrs.

It is the belief of the drivers that it helps reduce the heat in the engine bay. It's not limited to the Vios used as taxis. Other cars used as taxi cabs as have their hood unlocked which is a safety hazard in case of an accident.

+1 on ghosthunter's statement. Unless the car was running at speed, that small gap does nil to reduce the heat in the engine bay.

    OT time:

*zap.FREEDOM: yep. guilty of doing italian tune ups once in a while too... pero pinost pa kasi nya sa youtube hehe.

not really an issue of power to weight. It was the same part of SCTEX where I was able to bring our old ranger (let's say around 60-70 WHP for 1,500 kg) to nearly 180 kph - downhill kasi.

Tama yung part na nag 200kph sya pababa kasi hinahatak sya ng gravity, even fx nga kaya mag 180 (nabasa ko lang sa ibang forum ha) pero sa SCTEX din probably during downhill.

Actually its not the top speed its how quick it can reach the top speed, 0-100kph= ?secs.

For me ok ang vios kasi subok na... ginawang taxi eh. Kung sino tumatagal na taxi yun ang matibay isipin mo 24 hrs a day then salitan driver tapos majority barumbado pa at walang paki sa kotse tingin nila sa kalsada pirmeng makinis. Torture test talaga

kala ko tapos na issue... ok kung downhill kinaya 200, kinaya pa rin. anywhere you look at it, it still topped more that 200km/h.

kung dahil sa gravity lang, dapat kinaya ng ranger more than 200km/h kasi mas mabigat di ba?

you all are talking of torque already (how fast the car can reach 100km/h). sinasabi ni SG... mabagal ang 200km/h.
