    1. Riding comfort
    2. Durability
    3. Fuel Consumption
    4. Maintenance
    5. Performance sa mga long trips
    6. Appearance/Looks

Okay before dumating ang Fiesta/Accent FBs dito

    Congrats! first since you made a good choice;
The Vios has been in the Philippine market for 8 years now and it has proven it worth quite well.

Ride Comfort is Good passengers won't complain
Durability lots of Vios Taxis running around with 100K ODO mileage
    Fuel Consumption 1.3L 2NZFE gives around 21 km/L (15-18 km/L realistically)
Maintenance Cheap as they go, just don't get ripped off by Evil Service Advisors
    Performance it could reach 200KPH

    with the Manual
Appearance/looks either way it looks USDM and JDM so you can easily make it look better with Cosmetic Modz

Agree. My wife and I recently joined tsikot forums to get feedback on buying our first SUV. And somehow after reading most threads, medjo dominated nga ng Hyundai forumers. At times, I like their passion kasi ganun din ako dati during the 90s. Lalo na when the Civics came out. So iniintindi ko na lang. Pero, okay na nga ba ang mga Hyundai? or its yet to be tested? I bought a Fortuner last december and I really enjoy driving it. This time I was planning to get a Vios pero dahil sa maganda din ang itsura ng Accent, parang yun na ang 1st option ko. Just recently though, I read the Engine Knock thread ng Accent and I know the Vios will not have that. Dami kayang medrep at taxi na Vios. So, in your honest non-fanboy opinion, would an Accent or a Hyundai car be as reliable and a durable as a Toyota/Vios?

Vios is a common entry car, but a bit better than a box with 4 wheels. so I'd say, go for it!

    1. Riding comfort

    - Pretty good. I like the Honda City better, but the Vios has better seats. The Mazda2 and Fiesta are better, but much more expensive than the 1.3 MT.

    2. Durability

    - Pretty good if you maintain it well and don't run it the way taxi drivers do. Though I have noticed in Vios test units that they're sensitive to running in the heat, and you will notice the electric steering and automatic transmission act differently after sitting in hot traffic for a while. That said, since it's a 1.3 MT, the heat issues aren't going to be as bad as with the 1.5 MT.

    3. Fuel Consumption

    - This is one place where Toyota is still at the top or near the top of the class.

    4. Maintenance

    - About the same as with most any other manufacturer while you're still in warranty. When out of warranty, parts are a bit cheaper.

    5. Performance sa mga long trips

    - No complaints, I've taken the Vios on very long out of town trips... though the rear axle doesn't ride that well over rough roads (oscillates)

    6. Appearance/Looks

    - Not too many pogi points, but dress it up properly it's okay. Just don't go for the ridiculous lipstick chrome grilles.

    -

The Vios isn't my first pick in subcompacts, and at the 1.5G range, it's completely uncompetitive with newer cars in terms of interior features and technical specs... but a 1.3 MT is a very practical car, and is a very good buy. ;)

all power na except side mirror

BTT: Vios is a good car. We still have the Gen 2 1.5 G A/T, it's faster than Mazda 3 1.6 so it is fast enough for me. 52,000 kms on the clock still no headaches. Ang mura pa ng maintenance, as in sobrang mura.

hehe, I second the sentiment that the vios is an all around great car ideal for first time buyers due to to its easy maintenance and wide availability of parts and not to mention durability.

Vios owner here and no regrets at all. As I plan to upgrade to a compact car next yr, di ko parin bibitawan vios ko. Absolutely no complaints abt the vios.
Ride quality is ok. It is a subcompact but it rides well and is roomy
Durabilitywise, my car is more then 2 yrs old and no problem at all.
Fuel consumption- very economical. 11-13 ltrs/km city driving
Maintenance - proper pms lang siguradong di sasakit ulo mo
Long trips - it is a subcompact but comfortable naman. Of course not the same level as an altis or civic.
Appearance - it may not be the best looking car right now but it doesnt look outdated.

For ur budget the vios I think is the best bang for the buck subcompact right now. Dont mind all those taxi comments abt it. The fact that its being used as taxis means na the car is hassle free.

    1. not so great, medyo matagtag, as expected
    2. not sure
    4. not sure
    5. ok naman, can catch up if your in a hurry
    6. i dont like it that much. but for the 600k price... who cares.

in conclusion, i think is a good first car choice.

I drive a vios! Yup its a good car!
Try riding a vios taxi so you can experience the ride. Its actually comfortable, considering most of the taxi drivers nakakahilo magdrive.
    2. Durability: Sa pag-maintain and pagalaga na yun ng car. The vios I drive is 4 years old already, its still good as new.
    3. Fuel Consumption: magmanual ka para matipid
    4. maintenance: Im a girl so I don't really know much, but I go to good year servitek every once in a while to have my cars checked.
    5. performance at long drives: Torque is good. sarap idrive sa long drive
    6. appearance: I honestly would go for a camry or an altis, but its too expensive and the gas consumption is high. I heard the new model of the vios is good

Ok naman ang J, slap new mags then tapos!! May power windows naman, but you may want to upgrade the stereo unit.

Here are my observations, although I haven't driven or owned a Vios, I rode in a taxicab Vios twice:

    2. Durable ang Vios, just ask the cabbies out there
    3. For a 1.3L car, good fuel consumption. There was a fuel economy test by the DOE back in 2008 and the Vios was included in the top 10
    4. Maraming spare parts ang Toyota. Mura ang PMS sa dealer
    5. Cannot comment on this, but ok naman, as long as the vehicle isn't fully loaded.
    6. As they say, "The beauty is in the eye of the beholder" it's you who will be the judge. Pero the Vios is easy on the eye, not too polarizing.

    Happy Shopping!

I just noticed na yung mga taxi na bagong model ng vios, laging naka-semi bukas yung harapan? is it because to prevent over heat sa makina or madaling masira yung lock?

It is the belief of the drivers that it helps reduce the heat in the engine bay. It's not limited to the Vios used as taxis. Other cars used as taxi cabs as have their hood unlocked which is a safety hazard in case of an accident.
