July 8th, 2004 10:11 AM #463im a bit confused. my brother said that the break in period will determine how fast your vehicle can go. he said na there are some cars na "pangit pagkaka-break in". when i asked what he meant he said that i should also try driving at high speed, say 120kph -- which i accidentally did, maluwag kse ang expressway and i honestly didn't know i was at that speed na. it felt like running at a lower speed. minsan ko lang naman ginagawa, i average 80kph if traffic permits.
im on my 600th km reading and what are the things i have to look out for when i get my car's 1st 1K check-up? ive read in some threads that fuel mileage seems to get better. for now, im averaging 9kms/litre which i think is not baaaad and to think i drive 50kms roundtrip a day. i have a friend/officemate who drives a 4x2 xtrail and he said there are times when he averages half of what im getting now.

July 8th, 2004 10:16 AM #464also .... i just find it weird na hindi kasya yung holes nung LTO plates dun sa butas sa front bumper. or sa 2004 models lang ganun? na-release na yung plates ko kse last Monday and when my dad was putting it, hindi talaga mag-match yung mga butas. i even called my dealer and asked if there's a way to adjust it. so sa kagustuhan ng dad ko malagay yung plaka, he had additional holes made.
sorry guys i just find it really weird why someone must've overlooked that or hindi lang namin na-figure out. yung sa rear plates, okay naman -- sakto!

some people say so. pero sa states, break in periods are generally ignored. from the casa, sibat na sila.

ingwid, ako 100kph pa lang max speed ko, hindi ko talaga namalayan na 100kph na, sorbang willing ng makina na bumilis pa... pero hindi naman nagtatagal, binabagalan ko din.
ako i'm averaging 9.7km/L city and 13km/L hiway.

ingwid, for the break-in period... try varying your speed during long drives... ok lang high-speed rin naman... wag lang masyadong gigil...
slow acceleration lang...
pepengtom, nakaka addik yung high-speed noh? sabi sayo jan ka mag eenjoy... :D
