Toyota PH cruises past 2M unit sales milestone | Autoindustriya

2 million Toyotas have found their way into Filipino homes all over the country, a testament to the affinity that car buyers have for cars, SUVs, vans, MPVs, pick-ups and commercial vehicles that wear the T emblem on the grille. The achievement follows their recent success of maintaining the “Triple Crown” with the highest sales in passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and overall sales as a brand.
There is, however, a caveat here: the count for the 2 million unit sales actually only goes back to Augut 3, 1988 when Toyota Motor Philippines was set up as a company with Toyota Motor Corporation (34%), Mitsui & Co. (15%) and George Ty's Metrobank (later GT Capital, 51%). The count does not include vehicles sold by the previous Toyota partner which was Delta Motor Corporation for a long time prior, so there will be much more.

    truly, one-stop-shop ang toyota dealership.

kumita na sa benta ng kotse,
    kumita ulit sa financing.
at kikita na nasman bawat PMS.

    yup... kaya nga napa-wow ako.

I remember reading an article before na malulugi ang dealership if lahat ng tao bibili ng car in cash. napaka-liit daw ng tubo nila.

pero iba usapan sa bank installment... and mas malaki pa lalo kita nila sa in-house installment.

yung classmate ko dati who once worked for a car dealership told me...

Yung papasok sa car dealership na naka-shorts and tshirt, malamang bibili in cash and halos wala silang kikitahin. Pero yung pormang porma, aasikasuhin nila lahat kasi most probably di ma-approve bank loan nya and in-house loan ang gagamitin.

Kikita sila sa initial sale, monthly pay and yearly insurance

    Of course TFS is growing.

Their dealers are still "forcing" customers to avail of in-house financing as a precondition for the "availability" of units.

Pag cash o bank PO, walang available units. Pag in-house financing, mayroon kaagad.

Tapos kumpara sa rates ng bangko sa labas, sa in-house financing yung monthly installment mas mataas, yung insurance premium mas mataas, at yung chattel mortage fees halos doble.

In short, Taga Financial Services parin

Mostly ung mga Leasing companies dito sa Pinas, madalas related company sa isang bangko, ay nahati sa dalawang business, (1) leasing business; at (2) rentals business. Based sa mga previous comments dito, mukhang sa rentals business papasok. Bale si client-company magsasabi kay leasing company na kailangan nila ng x number of particular x units for a number of years..magkakaroon sila ng kontrata.
