The problem is that I think I haven't throughly checked the unit. The service record reflected that it goes to casa just one at 5k. Now when we try to testdrive it, I notice that it has a black smoke. The guy who was with us say it was normal for diesel engine. I just didn't notice if it fade after our test
drive. The ride was smooth though. For those guys who has an ideas on how to check such second hand car, please help me. Can you give me a checklist. I want to be a member of the INNOVA club.

25K km and only serviced in casa once at 5K km. Well that should raise a red flag immediately. Since it still has one more year of warranty, I doubt if the any Toyota casa will entertain any mechanical (engine) warranty claims since the previous owner did not have it serviced religiously in Toyota casa.

As for black smoke, that is not normal. In fact, if its a properly serviced/maintained vehicle, there should be no visible (black or white) coming of the tail pipe.

When testing it next time, make sure the engine is cold (hasn't been started since the previous night) and see if it once click start (with no sign of choking or weakness).

Also check if this was an Ondoy victim. Look under the dashboard and seats for any sign of mud (not dust).

i've seen D4d 2 yeasr old, walang smoke whatsoever.

Food for thought lang para sa out of warranty innova

Original replacement injectors -25k a piece
    Original replacement pump - 50k.

Buying a D4d out of warranty.. Priceless

    Sty away from that bro.

800k. I,m just too much in a hurry I think. Will it show black smoke if you start it for the first time in a day? Will it show any smoke in any situation even if the engine is in good condition? So the casa would not entertain engine warranty. OMG!

AFAIK, discount is around 30,000 to 40,000 depending on one's haggling and negotiating skills.

Standard freebies are floor mats, no name brand tint (not full windshield), seatcover, etc... Try to haggle for free 3 yrs LTO registration.

For what variant is that? Try to refund your deposit. There are better units to pick from in the market. Or you could have just gone for brand new.

    INNOVA 2.0 J Gas M/T Php803,000.00 less 30K-40K discount.

    Sayang
Excited pa naman yung family ko. My first choice is a G variant, diesel, manual. Can't go more or less than that. Sayang talaga. Well I have to get my reservation fee back. Hirap lang kasi maghanap ng matinong second hand na Innova. Parang sinasalo agad ng mga ahente pag galing sa first owner. Baka my marerecommend kayo. I want to be a member so I have to get one. Ayoko ng hassle na magbayad ng monthly so I go for full cash. Again......help.

    Friends,

I've got my wife talk to the owner of the 2009 innova G, The unit was sold two weeks ago to a car dealer. It sold at 750k, now it was offered to me at 800k, and he said that the car is for family use only. He also said that he doesn't take it to casa because petron and caltex shops are cheaper. He said to my wife that they have a gentlemans agreement not to talk details about the car. Well you know the power of women to convince someone to talk using charisma. But Friends, can you input your ideas about the deal? I still have three days to decide.

Another question you might want to consider - why was a 1 year old car was sold that early?

It means po na directly sa bank ako nakipagtransact regarding my car purchase. I just told the bank to issue the (purchase order)P.O. to Toyota makati because that is my prefered dealership. Mas mababa kasi interest rates sa banks.

    Sir Boogie,

Thanks for the input. The owner says that he sell because he was purchasing a Montero. And one thing more, does the owner will hide something since the unit has been sold to a dealer? When my wife try to text him for the first time, the owner thought that she was the dealer. We also try to ask him(owner) about the smoke, he said DI MAUSOK YAN. Or maybe I was wrong in my first observation. Maybe...........

Your purchase will be a risky one. However, if you want to gamble in that risk its your call. Go on. But as we assess the situation, having the 800,000 budget its very practical to get a brand new one to have a worry free innova ownership or look for another well maintained (casa) vehicle esp if it is still under warranty.

Of course, if I was the one trying to unload it, why would I even admit to anything wrong with the vehicle. Their goal is to unload it to somebody as fast as possible.

I guess you really are set on getting this vehicle even if its very obvious that there are so many things not right with it.
