January 22nd, 2015 01:36 AM #9881"i confess!" means, i have not changed any of my fluids! my brake's fluids are all original; they came with the car from the factory.
i topped up only the radiator coolant and the windshield wash liquid.
my original factory P/S fluid level is almost at the low mark, so's i will top it up soon..
i suppose, when you changed your brake fluid, the fresh "lubricating ability" of the new fluid made itself felt..
but i am still toying with the idea of replacing the clutch assembly.. . as soon as i find out how much it will cost..

Good day mga sir. Planning to change the oil of my father's innova. Nasa abroad kasi sya. Just want to ask how many liters ang engine oil ng innova diesel? Ano recommended nyong brand of fully sythetic oil for diesel engine? Sa labas ako papa change oil. Thanks in advance.

January 22nd, 2015 11:00 AM #9883Afaik diesels clutch parts cost twice as much as gas parts.
Im also nearing 40k mi,eage and also planning to replace the fluids.
Madali lang naman mag change ng brake and clutch fluid (same reservoir), buksan mo lang bleed valve and let the fluid flow out, just make sure na di mauubos ang nasa reservoir pag ginawa ang draining.

January 22nd, 2015 10:58 PM #9886Masisira yung battery tray pag 3sm, disadvantage nito pag nag-vent yung battery at unti-unti mapunta sa ibaba ng battery baka di macontain sa tray at abutin na yung engine body.

January 23rd, 2015 10:30 PM #98883sm is bigger than 2sm it needs the battery tray to alter its form, thats why when the amaron guy of pollux in caloocan said that I only choose 2sm for that matter.
iirc, they will cut the sides to fit on the tray.

January 24th, 2015 12:04 AM #9889i have not experienced a single battery "boil-over" since the 80s.. must be the new alternator charging technology and maintenance-free batteries available now..
but do you know what i am doing now? the exact opposite! i put in the smaller battery size than factory.. and i have not noticed any difference with my cars (all stock).. mas mura pa..
but unless you have battery-eating electrical accessories installed, a bigger capacity battery will only cause you to spend more for nuthin'.
in the olden days, when we wanted to put bigger batteries in our cars, we would get some neolite (black, thick, heavy plastic / rubber, similar to shoe soles) and put it onto the battery tray, so's the lip will disappear and the bigger battery can sit over the lip without touching it. the battery clamp prevents the battery from shifting.. plywood also works.
a potential problem now would be, the space might be too crowded as to dis-allow even lowering that bigger battery into place. i guess we'll just have to try it..
but do you know what i am doing now? i am using the next smaller battery size.. and i am putting gas-engine batteries into my diesels.. wala namang bad effects.. mura pa.!Last edited by dr. d; January 24th, 2015 at 12:25 AM.
