Mga ka-innova.
Napansin ko while driving may napansin ako unusual sa steering ko. Medyo kumakabig pakanan and kailangan nakaalalay ka sa manibela compared before.
Dinala ko sa new capitol tire (goodyear servitek) sa kapitolyo. Akala ko simpleng alignment lang kelangan.
Then the mechanic told me need na daw palitan tie rod.
Here are my questions:
1. May nakapagpalit na ba senyo? Nag 8yrs na pala innova ko.
2. Ano ba cause ng sira? Yes im sure wear and tear aside from that, Road conditions ba? Driving style?
3. They quoted me na papalitan
2 rack end php 2200
2 tie rod end 1600
Camber and align 1200
Labor 1800
Total is 6800
Tama ba ito? Ilan ba components ng tie rod? Hindi pala siya isang piyesa lang?
Mura na ba yun? O lipat ako shop? Baka may marekomenda na din kayo na trusted TIA!
3. Mandatory ba alignment and camber after changing it?
4. I asked also the mechanic am i endangering my life driving while sira yung tie rod. Hindi naman daw. Yung gulong daw ang mag suffer dahil maapektuhan yung upod. Tama ba yun? Or asap ipagawa na?
Salamats!!

September 26th, 2014 06:10 PM #9334first of all, did the mechanic say the suspension was out of alignment?
did he further say the suspension components were already worn and needed replacement?
if the suspension parts are already worn, then they must be replaced, before alignment is attempted. it is not good practice to perform alignment with worn parts.
at that age, i would probably replace my suspension parts in pairs.. left and right....
and i have no idea of the price of innova suspension parts, because i have not yet had mine replaced after nine years and almost 100K km.... napaka-tibay...
only my shocks needed replacement..
suspension parts usually make a lot of noise or cause mis-alignment problems first, before they fall apart... that means, we are given ample warning to replace them..
when they finally fall apart, we (our car) might become uncontrollable as regards to steer-ability..
if your car's bottom just falls to the ground in the event of catastrophic suspension failure, you can consider yourself lucky.. there are far worse things...Last edited by dr. d; September 26th, 2014 at 06:20 PM.

Nung nakapila pa lang ako nilapitan ko mechanic and i told him my observation. Dun niya nasabi na baka alignment lang.
After inangat dun niya nakita na tie rod nga.
BTW I already replaced shocks earlier this year front and rear.
151K km to be exact. Daily driven din mixed city and out of town.
Akala ko nga dahil oblong na yun gulong kaya may kabig, dun sa isang oto kasi namin kaya pala may kabig rh oblong na gulong.

September 27th, 2014 01:34 AM #9339Ahem..
the serpentine belt is what we see in front of the engine block. it runs the accessories. that is easier to replace, as only tension adjustments are necessary.
timing belt is hidden inside the engine. it's different from the serpentine belt. it's more difficult to replace, because one would have to remove certain covers to access it, and one has to follow certain markings, if the engine is to run well.
good luck.
