I've been reading about the innova d4d... I think it's the fuel parts ang may problem na biglang humihinto. Sorry, not an expert on cars. I'm planning to get sana a Hilux na 2nd hand. Baka maging problem kasi.

totoo yan findings niyo po sir na may problem ang D4D "dati". evident yung choking problem na yun sa fuel filter on ALL gen1 D4D engines - 2003-2005(first quarter).

the problem was caused by the fuel filter having a fine micron-rating.
masyadong pino ang filter element. sa dumi at sub-standard rating ng local diesel natin dito sa pilipinas, it causes the filter to seize up, so nagbabara na.

so what toyota did, they re-designed the fuel filter for all D4D engines (Fortuner, Hilux, Innova) starting 2006-to-date just to acomodate the diesel fuel standard na meron tayo dito sa pilipinas.

D4D is euro2 or euro 3 standard na ata in terms of emission testing, but that is using european diesel standards.
dito sa pilipinas, we haven't even passed euro-1 fuel standards. so that alone would give you an idea na sub-standard ang fuel quality natin dito.

so maybe if you're planning to get a hilux, i would suggest 2006 and up. or if it's 2005, just make sure to replace the fuel filter or ask the previous owner kung napalitan na ng bago and you're good to go.

Last weekend, from lucena city, quezon we went to nasugbu, batangas. Ang tipid po pala ng hilux naten.

Usually 14.5km/li ang naka-display sa may stereo. And to think, total of 320+ km back and forth ang na-travel, 1& 1/2 lang na guhit ang binaba sa gauge. At lima pa kami na sakay.
my ride pala is 2.5 hilux G.

ang problem lang pagtumakbo na kami ng mabilis, may annoying sound. parang may naiipit yata sa likod o sa gulong. ano po kaya ang cause ng sound na yun?

Regarding the sound you are saying, at what speed did you start hearing this annoying sound? Can you also expound how it sounds like, "naiipit" you mean how? Para bang squeaking, rattling sound...

Yup, parang squeaking sound, sir chaos0324. Tumutunog siya kapag mga 60km/h during the curves.

And i noticed yesterday, naglalagay kame ng karga sa likod, narinig ko ulit sound. Parang sa leaf spring galing yung sound. Niyugyog ko ang trunk, dun pala galing.

Chineck po namin un leaf spring, parang wala naman siyang kalawang sa labas. Hindi ko lang alam kung ang pagitan ay may kalawang.

Ano po kaya mabuti gawin para matanggal yun squeaking sound?

*venrich - sorry late reply sir. best guess is leaf spring. normal ata to sa ibang pick up. In fact i saw a new pick up that passed by infront of me and i heard a squeaking sound already. wala pa nga itong plaka eh. Try putting WD-40 on the bushings underneath of your truck. That's what i do after having a truckwash, mawawala for a while tapos babalik. I learned to live with it. My dad said "pick up yan eh".. hehe!

Sir chaos0324 thanks, Nawala yung sound after pms. Sabi ng s.a. aayusin daw nila ang leafspring. Mga few days later, bumalik na ulit. Ganun nga po talaga siguro. Makabili nga sa Ace ng WD-40 at ma-try.

Also, nabangga ang bumper namin ng jeep na harurot. Nayupit! Pinapalitan namin ng bumper sa casa. Pagkatapos mapalitan, ngayon ko lang napansin, wala po bang takip ang ilaw ng bumper para sa plate number? Kita ang bulbs kapag sumilip ka sa ilalim.

Ta-try ko sana sumilip sa bumper ng ibang hilux, kaso nagkakataon na laging may security guard na nakakalat hehehe. Baka mapagkamalang lang akong carnapper.

good day. may I asked if how thrifty this engine would go on combined city/highway driving (with routes like makati via EDSA to QC then to Antipolo) traffic on EDSA assumed to be on a sunday.

By the way, me owner d2 ng KUN26.. (4x4 3.0 M/T). He told me his FC combined.. Sa mga KUN35 (2.5 na 4x4 look) kaya? Weight of KUN26 is about 120 KG more than the 2.5 equipped KUN35.

i have 2kdftv na hilux, in one full tank of 65 liters, i run an average of 900kms city driving, QC-Marikina-Ortigas-Makati. yung sa kapatid ko 1kdftv sa hilux niya in 65 liters of full tank it can run an ave of 700kms sir.
