    Long drive = 14.5 kms/liter === (Paranaque - Lipa Batangas - Southwoods - Paranaque)

    Total kms = 153kms
Total Fuel consumed = 10.5 liters (Shell Fuel-Save Unleaded)

++++ Full tank before departing Paranaque 10.5 liters upon re-full tank at Shell Paranaque (Shopwise)

---->>>> I have 2,000kms to go before my 120,000kms PMS (Change Oil / Spark Plugs etc.) ---- so considering the THULE Bike rack wind drag and Due for change oil and spark plugs replacement factors involved. It is highly possible that the 14.5 km/liter long-drive reading will still improve.

PEr my experience with using a Thule roof carrier (box) with my Altis, the FC doesn't change much on highway driving as long as you maintain speeds of around 100kph or less. Drive it over 110-120kph and thats were you start to feel the FC penalty.

Good afternoon.. Im a new Toyota Innova J Diesel 2012 owner. It was acquired last June 6, 2012. Hingi lang po ako ng opinion. Nagtataka kasi ako dahil every week nagkakarga ang anak ko ng 600 pesos fuel na ang pinupuntahan lang naman niya is from Rosario, San Pedro to Festival Mall in Alabang which is 13Km ang distance, total of 26 Km and that is only every saturday and Sunday then his daily travel to/from our house to his School at Colegio de San Agustin which is just approx 2Km, a total of 4 km. To top it all, hindi po gumagamit ng Aircon ang anak ko to save fuel. Bakit ang lakas kumain ng fuel ng car na ginagamit ko. Meron po kayang problema? When we first have our 1st 1,000 KM maintenance, I already told them na ang lakas sa fuel ng car.. wla nmn sila makitang problema. Pero now even my kids were asking bakit ang lakas sa fuel ng innova while hindi nmn napapag-gamit ang sasakyan? I'll appreciate your input on this. Thanks and best regards.

well, as per my experience.. 8 km/li is already very bad for an innova diesel, even with aircon on. exactly how many km/li do you get?
second, we should not forget that the vehicle still uses fuel even if it is just idling and not moving at all.. as in heavy traffic.
third, very short trips use up a lot of fuel per km, maybe twice of what it normally does, because the engine doesn't warm up to fuel-efficient temperatures. and 2 km per trip is very, very short.
third, i would be interested in the underbody.. can you drive over to a gas station and have the vehicle lifted? look for fuel leaks outside the tank, in the fuel lines.. etc.

when i drive my sedan in my 5.5 km long trips, i am lucky to get 8 km/li. when my son drives it with his 10 km trips, he gets at least 10 km/li.

Good day! Just want to share fuel consumption figures of my 2005 Toyota Rav-4 (M/T, 4x2):

    Calamba-Makati and back via SLEX, between 12-13km/li (90-100kph *2000-2500RPM)

    Calamba-Los Baños and back, with hill climbing, between 9-10km/li (60-70kph * 1500-2000RPM)

Calamba-Legazpi and back, pedal to the metal driving when able, 12.37km/li (speeds of maximum 140kph *3500-4000RPM)

Overall, I love the figures my RAV-4 has been turning up.

I agrre with the other post. Reset km gauge to zero, then pa full tank, then long distance drive, then full tank uli. Divide the distance in km by the number of liters, then you obtain an accurate FC of your car.

Dr. D tnx for the reply. Wla pong traffic mula samin going to Festival Mall, malapit kasi kami sa SouthWood Exit going to Festival Mall, hindi pa kmi naka experience nung ako ang nagdrive for more than one month. Nung nag 1k PMS, i already brought to d attention of Manila Bay coordinator, at wla nmn silang nakita na problema. Nagreklamo kasi ako ng ang lakas sa krudo ng car. Maaring tama rin kau dun sa short trip. Salamat po uli..

Just sharing... the workhorse 2001 Toyota Revo GLX diesel gets 7-7.5km/L city driving. I have to admit I have a heavy foot, especially with this car. Ang kupad naman kasi! There was a time when it dipped to around 6km/L after continuous flood wading, but which improved after a thorough oil change.

In long drives, we brought it to Subic once with 5 passengers and some luggage. Average speed of 90-110km/h at NLEX with occasional bursts to 120km/h, and at SCTEX, average speed of 130-140km/h (maxes out at around 145km/h on level road) with rpm above 4000 most of the time. Traffic in Subic city limits was very light and roads were mostly long, wide and straight so it would qualify somewhat as highway driving as well. This got me 9.4km/L.

By the way, I'm using upsized 205/70/R14 tires, maintaining 35psi on all wheels. Mileage now is at 94tkms.
