Hello everyone! A friend of mine introduced me to this forum
and have read with interest some of the topics posted here.

I have some concerns with my 1995 Corolla GLi (4AFE engine,
16 valve - stock) as my friend could not answer all my questions.
I am hoping for some help, guys.

    1. Idling seems to be okay when the A/C is turned on. However,
it goes down to around 750 (i believe) and the engine "nangingingig"
ng konti (but not to the point na it will die down. It then returns
to around 900-1000 RPM when A/C "engages". Is this normal?

    2. When A/C is off, idling (RPM) is around 750 (according to
the results from an analyzer used at Servitek) - nanginginig
Is this normal?

    3. After starting the car, I turn on the A/C, then drive. Ok naman
ang lamig (nasa 1 setting lang ako parati). However, I noticed

I tried putting the A/C setting
into 2, 3, and 4 - kaso ganun pa rin.

Babalik na lang to normal operation yung A/C pag tumatakbo na uli
    ang car.

What could be the problem, guys? Please help!

This is my first post, nga pala. Sana may makatulong sa akin.
    Thank you, fellow Tsikot members!

    P.S.

Less than 4 weeks ago, I had my coolant, brake fluid, and
power steering replaced. I also replaced all my spark plugs
and air filter, as well as changed my engine oil, fuel filter, and oil filter.

I have also just used the Mitsubishi Fuel System Cleaner -
dito ko nabasa at natutunan yun

I have also just purchased a set of new tires for it.

Except for the above-mentioned concerns, maayos ang
at matulin. And never siya nag-overheat.

Thank you, fellow Tsikot members for your help!

typically normal for most cars of the type.

Sounds like your freon is low or there is a leak. Have your A/C system recharged with freon. If the problem returns, have it checked for leaks.

Could the idle/timing be adjusted on a Corolla GLi, Ghosthunter?

Thank you very much for the suggestion. I will do so this coming
Saturday. I've read about CeeJay's here, too.

Thank you for the suggestions. I will be listing these down, too,
when I have the car for check up this coming weekend.

Yes but you will end up consuming more fuel if you increase the rpm of the idle.

    Hi Ghosthunter!

My thinking was to adjust it a bit (from 750 to 800 RPM).
    when it is in neutral.

I asked the mechanic kung puwede i-adjust - pero sabi
niya yung ECU ang automatic nag-aadjust nun
based on the sensors found in the Corolla GLi.

Hoping for your help again, Ghosthunter.

    Thank you very much!

The idle speed adjustment screw is on the front of throttle body in a recessed hole (driver's side).

This info is a big help, Ghosthunter!
I will have my mechanic take a look tomorrow.

Bigla tuloy ako napaisip - do you know any
very good Corolla GLi mechanics and/or electricians, Ghosthunter?
Makati area ako, but I also frequent Alabang, Sucat and
    Bicutan.

    Thank you so much!
