Have the same tok on the Vios. Mostly comes out on hard braking. So greasing the back of the pads didn't work? I'll have BGC look at it on my 20k next month.

The greasing fixes it for a few days then it comes back. I wonder what caused it though because prior to my 20K service, walang-wala naman yung problem.

My FC started with a dismal 5-6 km/l when I got the Altis. But now after just 2.5k on the odo I can go as high as 9-10kms/l depending on the traffic. Worst ko na 6 ngayon, yung tipong super traffic na yan na wala masyadong galawan. Basta wag lang harurot ng harurot and be gentle on the accelerator. BTW my route includes Makati-BGC area so medyo traffic pa. Still hoping na gaganda pa FC ko after the 5k pms.

I've owned both brands (Honda and Toyota) extensively enough and so far i've been happier with the Toyotas whether they be brand new or second hand purchases. The Hondas are more fun to drive but as to overall and long-term ownership, the Toyota seem to age better and comes out to be my preferred choice for my needs and wants. I grew up as a Nissan guy though... until Nissan Motor Phils. slowed down in bringing out the new and good stuff locally.

Update on this: I had Toyota Shaw regrease the caliper pin and they checked the shims/clips on the pads. The intermittent "tok"soundis gone again but for how long, i don't know. The mechanic said it's common on the Altis and Vios though i never encountered this on my 2007 Altis and it's not evident on the 2007 Vios of my in-laws as well.

Be careful with channels like "China Observer" on YouTube. There is a clear bias in their posts and...
