please enlighten me (/others). after my 50,000 km PMS (almost three years), i plan to shift from FS to Regular. I intend to change oil every 5000 km na. Makakatulong ba ang engine flushing? how come maaapektuhan ang lining? In my little knowledge the only difference between FS and Regular is that mas madaling uminit ang FS oil. in my understanding, the faster that the engine heats up during starting the lesser ang time to warm up before driving. meaning you can drive to the max kaagad. with that in mind, i planned to shift because hindi naman ako nagmamadali mag warm up.

Sir mel, mayron ba tayong thread regarding this matter?

You can change back to mineral oil anytime. Since bago pa ang mga rides natin, flushing is not that recommended to be used. If you have a high milage avanza, puwede naman. wag lang madalas gamitin. makakasama kasi pag madalas.

mas madalas mag change oil is actually good for the engine , but not for the pocket.

Kung out of warranty na ang avanza mo, you can have a trusted mechanic to open the engine top cover to check the general health of the engine. I am planning to do this on the my 80,000 km pms. malapit ng mag expire ang warranty ko at so far, no problems. currently at about 75,000 km.

ang important sa oil ay ang viscosity nito especially during normal operating temp. 15W-40 will get more viscouse first than 20W-40 after a cold engine startup. a mineral oil and a fully synthetic oil with the same weight will heat up at almost the same time I think.

Ok lang sa akin dahil 2009 talaga, not 2008, August 09 ko na take-out eto.
Pinag-iba sa 2008 ay corrugated roof na ang 2009, ang vvti na emblem wala na sa likod, nasa side na, the rest same lang.
Ang sa'yo supposedly 2010 pero parang leftover yata ng 2009.
Reklamo mo kaya sa kanila bakit may lumabas ngayon na ibang HU, sayang din yon sir.

yun na nga e, I wil ask them why yung HU ng vanzy namin is still the same compared sa bagong labas, siguro delivered yung mga bagong units ng vanzy this month of May.

2010 din yung model nung sa akin pero di ko pa natry magplay ng MP3 sa HU ko. may pics ba kayo nung luma saka bagong stock na HU ng Avanza J?

yung stock HU mo ba ay walang AUX input? kung wala, CD l*ng ang pwedeng i-playback.

diko na na-edit ang unang post ko.
anyway, 3 out of 4 mech na tinanong ko, ok lang na switching back from FS to Mineral Oi or vice versa.
Mas madaling mag wear out daw ang mga oil seal kung palaging FS ang gamit.
Mas madaling mag consume ng oil ang FS sa High mileage,
Next PMS, stick to Mineral oil na ako.
