wala din yatang hubcaps ang white..

sa power window.. sa Toyota Shaw merong brochure ang Shark.. parang 23T yata yung power windows nila.. tapos lalagyan lang daw nang switch don sa sidings..

for financing... mas mababa ang interest nang mga banko kesa in-house.

sorry to interrupt guys, may question lang ako kasi I am currently searching for a new car. Avanza is one in my list as well as the hyundai accent. Matanong ko lang kung sa city driving how much km/liter ang avanza? I am taking into consideration the 1.3J na white yung pang taxi model nila. Hindi ko kasi kailangan yung 3rd row seat kasi pang biglaang cargo space lang naman ang purpose ko for considering avaza. May financing din ba ang toyota sa 1.3J na white, base sa website ng toyota same specs lang sila sa ibang colored na 1.3J except for the price of the extra 3rd row seat.

nakakabitan din ba ng power window ang avanza J? medyo pagod na ako mag search kasi ang haba na ng thread niyo. happy motoring.

update lang: after a medical check up at riverside hospital, my brother in law is okay.

the avanza is currently in toyota bacolod already and being diagnosed/checked up by them. we hope to get some news by tomorrow. i hope that their diagnosis will not be "biased"

we are really concerned with this development. while we are glad that the airbags and seatbelts worked and toyota bacolod immediately sent a tow truck to bring the vehicle to their service center, still, a 3 month old car with the steering wheel suddenly locking is really cause for worry. luckily, wala siyang pasahero sa front seat or even the back seat and he was all alone when this incident happened

only the 2009 j 5-setter walang hub cap unlike sa previous model na mayroon(like my brod "J 5-setter 07 model)

In the span of 3 years,, this is the first that I have heard of a total steering failure. This may be an isolated incident.

Even with the engine off, we have to supply the power in order to steer and we still have some braking power.

If the steering wheel is locked as if the key has been turned to lock. this safety mechanism might have failed. This is a standard feature of all cars right now if I am not mistaken.

That time I am using my key with other important keys for office.
Kukunin ng wife ko ang car,
So, to cut the time(off and on the car),
Habang tumatakbo, tinanggal ko ang susi at pinalitan ng susi nya.
Not thinking na mag lock pala ang steering wheel.
Buti nalang at mababa ang speed at straight lang ang daan,
Sus, kung nailiko ko ang steering wheel....LOCKED!

thanks for the reply guys, how about yung issue daw ng clutch nito? Ang sabi mahina o may problem daw ang clutch ng avanza ayon kay misis may nakakuwentuhan daw siya dati na SA ng toyota. Kaya nung sinabi ko sa kanya na isa yung avanza sa pinagpipilian ko for our family car eh yun yung nabanggit niya. Can you enlighten me on this especially sa mga matagal na avanza owners?

my avanza is 2 years and 4 months old. no problems so far.

Been to San Fabian, Pangasinan and Legaspi down south. Pag out of towns, typically loaded with people and stuff. It is my regular vehicle between sta rosa and pasig. Odo is now about 64,0XXKm

Aside from the MAF problem (na sa tingin ko ay sa casa nagka problem) its worry free

thank you for the reply sir. I have been in toyota balintawak kanina. Wala daw stock ng bare unit nila, madami daw nakapila for taxi. Siguro if mafinalize ko na yung decision namin to get an avanza hopefully makapagpareserve na ako next week.

by the way, is the 1.3L engine capable of 12 to 14km/liter consumption of fuel?

I have a tragic experience regarding locking steering wheel when i was a kid, we were cruising macarthur hi-way in bulacan. We were overtaking a truck and my father's jeep (willy's) for some reason suddenly its steering wheel locked out at a speed of about 60kph. We rammed into the trees soared over a ditch and landed at a rice field. I had head injury and my younger brother broke his leg.

If we were not lucky enough and hit an approaching vehicle you wont see me here not even my shadow.

Locking steering wheel is fatal that's why i never consider LHD converted vehicle (subic).

to those who are still worried about the avanza.

New models or newly designed items (vehicles included ) undergoes various tests before they are being marketed. Unfortunately, some of the kinks and teething troubles won't come out after they are already marketed. This is a natural occurrence though no fault of the manufacturers. As time goes by, this kinks were gradually corrected till the model is almost perfected.
Now. Consider the avanza. Initially, if I am not mistaken, its forerunner was the Daihatsu Xenia. When Toyota took over Daihatsu, Xenia was already in the market for a few years. This basic configuration, was re-styled, needless to say remodeled and introduced to the market as avanza. Now, this model was selling for few years in Indonesia before it was introduced here in the Philippines. It's teething troubles were a thing of the past.
So people, your concern re clutch, brakes, steering, etc. were already a thing in the past, though isolated cases arises, probably to lax production procedures, or other causes beyond the manufacturer's control.
Hope this explanation alleviates your fears/concerns regarding this vehicle, or any other vehicle which is already in the market for more than 5 years.

If I am not mistaken, bare units are the white 5-seater na pang taxi. For the best quote, get at least 3 from different dealerships. Iyong PMS naman ay puwede sa kahit na anong toyota casa.

Noong hindi pa ako mas agressive mag drive, normal sa akin sa 14+ km per liter. Mixed city and hi-way. now nasa 13km per liter ako on the same route.

Iyon lang nga kung i-consider mo na hi-way ang SLEX dahil sa traffic. Kung walang traffic, the 42km+ one way trip is only 45 mins. normally suwerte na ang 1.5 hours one way.

Full tank, filled to the brim, will last 500+ km. Hindi pa umiilaw ang low fuel warning.

Tanong ko lang sana if you tried running your avanza at a speed higher than 80kph. Sinusubukan ko kc sakin pero parang ayaw na tumaas at ung rpm nya, nasa 3000 na. Although alam ko naman na 1.3 lang ang makina ko, I just want to know kung normal lang ba to or baka me problem lang talaga unit ko. Para at least, may basis din ako kung sakaling dadalhn ko unit ko sa case for diagnosis.

Btw, I got my unit last Nov 20, 2009 lang so Im also not sure kung tama lang ba na ihataw ko agad kasi others are saying na wag ko daw muna biglain.

dre, i got quotations from various dealers regarding pwer steering, and alarm with central lock. the cheapest i have so far was with TYT pasong tamo. power steering nila is 18k. Alarm with Central Lock is 8.5k pero me promo sila ngayon na 9k lang ung alarm with central lock plus back sensor.

I tried mine 140kph, J din sakin, di kaya naka speed limiter ka pa kasi break-in period ka. Pero nung break-in pa vanzy ko lumalampas pa ako ng 100kph

Im sorry but im guilty of violating the 10th policy regarding multiple accounts. The 'getap04' was my account when I still have my nissan altima and I created a new account named 'TATS' (name I gave to my new avanza).
