oh my, so it's true what they say about toyota alabang re lousy service and the "alleged switching of parts" to be sold outside the casa.

a contact of ours (got the story from my mom) who worked at toyota alabang (but is now resigned) confirmed that his fellow employees (yung mga sira ulo) will tell unwitting/clueless clients who bring in their cars for servicing that there are some parts needed for replacement. ang modus operandi nila, they will get the perfectly functioning parts, replace them with old ones (or even semi defective parts), then sell the parts outside. they connive with certain guards na malapit sa kanila and give them a cut from the sale para mailabas nila yung items outside the casa.

i have heard of similar stories before re toyota alabang pero ang hirap paniwalaan. but then it was confirmed that it was indeed happening (at least at the time of employment of our contact). so ingat lang kayo. better check everything, even the parts replaced tuwing mag-papa-service kayo sa toyota.

sa honda alabang kasi, they give the owners the old/defective parts na tinanggal. and when i had my car checked sa suking talyer, they confirmed that the parts that needed replacement ay talaga namang pinalitan ng honda with matching stickers and dates pa stuck on the parts.

    Bro,

You have to highlight this problem to the TAI higher management, I also have a Toyota Fortuner 2009 Model AT Diesel, my contact TAI sales rep. is Ms. Cossette Antonio and I already mentioned her about TAI sucks on our Tsikot forum. She does not make any comment meaning they are really sucked.

On my SUV 1km. I have it change oil with fully synthetic oil, now because of your info and bad experience I am now in doubt with their service for my next 10Km change oil.

Do we have Consumer Association of the Philippines to file our complain like in U.A.E ?

After driving for a few kilometers I had observed that my engine was shaking. I thought of it that maybe it's the spark plug. Just to verify, I went to Rapide Service Center to have it replaced, there, I had it confirmed that it was really the spark plug. Furious, I contacted Toyota Alabang Service Center and complained, They had it checked and confirmed that it's really the spark plug. Of course, denial would be the course of action and insisted that they replaced it with a new one.
Second, on February 9, at 8:30 am, I brought my car to the service center for the 25,000 kms maintenance. After giving me the assesment, I went up to the customer lounge to wait, and stayed there until 1:00 pm. To my surprise I saw my car parked at the waiting area for release at around 9:30 am. I told myself that maybe somebody will get it for other services required as stated in my receipt. But that did not come until I took my car. I asked the man who drove me to the gate if the handbrake was adjusted and said yes. But when I reached home I found out that nothing had changed with the hand brake and that confirmed my suspicion that they only changed the engine oil (?) and the filter (?). Actually, I doubt if they changed anything. I am even of the impression now that maybe some parts are stolen and replaced with old ones from another car.
My friends in the office, who owns Toyota and are having services at Toyota Alabang, have the same suspicion and complaints. We also have the same question in mind if services are truly done in good faith. Is it? How can we be sure? I called the service department on tuesday (Feb 12) to complain on this matter. They only told me to go back and have it checked. What a waste of my time!!!

Okay... just got a car from TIA... without tint on release, had to bring it back for tinting... instead of the one hour promise it would take 4-5 hours so I just had them pre-cut the tint and got it installed across ATC.

Had an appointment in the afternoon.

I do not think I want to service in TIA. Is Toyota Manila Bay any good? I used to service in Shaw (a few years ago), but have moved to the south (Bacoor, Cavite), so hopefully you can recommend somewhere near.

    Regards.

i agree.. toyota alabang sucks.. we went there to test-drive the new fortuner para malaman na is it worth for the money, because lately marami kami naririnig na comment sa fortuner.. when we got there they said wala daw sila test drive then i said that's fine lipat kmi toyota sa malapit sa macapagal.. then biglang sumingit yung isang guy sa accessories na "toyota nman yan eh, hindi na kailangan i test-drive" mejo may pagka bastos, ang sakin lang eto.. sino ba nman taong bibili ng kotse na hindi niya tntest drive dba, mag sasayang ka ba ng pera sa sasakyan na hindi mo man lang alam kung anong feel gamitin? then so yun, sabi ko lipat nalang ako sa ibang branch.. and sbi pa nung dealer ok lang daw yun and pag nagustuhan ko daw ung fortuner eh sa knila daw ako bumili parin.. haha.. para silang mga ewan.. kukulet lang eh.. dapat hindi linalagay ung mga taong gnn sa service eh.. wala naman alam..

Grabe naman ang mga negative comments dito. Hahaha... Sana talaga ma-address ng TAI itong mga negative feedback na ito dahil isa pa naman sila sa leading dealers, if not the top dealer, dito sa amin sa south area. Pero okay din naman sila in other aspects as per our experience. Nung nag-inquire kami tungkol sa Altis, okay ang nakausap naming sales agent. Na-entertain kami nang maayos at nasagot din nang maayos ang mga tanong namin. Mukhang generous din naman ang discounts and perks na inoffer niya. When we asked if they have a display unit of the Altis (kasi wala sa showroom), the agent courteously led us to a garage-something place where new units for delivery are being kept. Okay lang naman sa kanya kahit sobrang dami kong kinalikot at pinindot-pindot dun sa kotse.

As for service, mukhang sa aspect na iyon ang negative comments sa kanila. I think okay kumuha sa kanila ng car if they offer good deals and perks. Sa service nga lang siguro, sa iba na lang. Magandang alternative daw ang Toyota Manila Bay sabi ng mga kakilala.
