    hello good day mga people...

i have a tamaraw fx GL 7k gasoline and i did some modifications on it. i change the carburator with a suzuki alto and its just fits perfectly of course with some modifications. the reason why i change the carburator was because of fuel consumption, i want to have more mileage because my old fuel consumption was 1 liter will run 5km in city driving and now that i have change the carburator with the suzuki alto the fuel consumption is still the same or maybe there is a little difference of .5 of liter save than before... i wonder what would be the problem since the jet of the suzuki alto is much smaller than that of an fx.... please help

your tamaraw is probably at least 50% heavier the alto. that means it needs at least 50% more energy (force) to bring it up to speed.. then we account for the age of the tamaraw engine, making it less efficient design-wise and wear-and-tear-wise...then we add the friction forces of the larger body, larger engine, etc...

maybe your right, i didnt account on those things but my tamaraw has still good engine eventhough it starts to consume engine oils but overall there is no trouble about it. but what other factors that can cause very low mileage? change oil is up to date, dont have a hard foot on the pedal i change gears in betweeen 1000-2000 rpm.

I agree with sir dr. d. If you back-read on this thread, there is actually nothing more you can do to improve your consumption as the FX's with a 7K engine are built as it is. There is really no other way unless you have it installed /convert with an EFI fuel system (as installed in Revo's) or convert your gasoline engine to Diesel (as well as the applicable differential gear).

Yes its doable. Though you have to consider the location where to put the computer box which is mostly inside the cabin or under the dash.
