List of Toyota D4D Probems (Choking, Hard Starting, etc.)

Yung 2005 hilux namin 2kd-ftv engine naka limit lang to 2800rpm. Kaya 110kph lang max kahit todo tapak sa accelerator pedal and naka warning light yung check engine. Paki recommend naman ng shop na magaling mag diagnose and repair. Central? Denso? Berima? Or other shops? Thanks sa sasagot

Help mga sir, naka-experience kasi ako na mag loss power at parang napuputol ung supply ng diesel ng innova dsl MT 2006 ko, minsan pag maalog sa daan namamatayan ako, pag naka aircon ako madalas magclog. pag hindi ako nka aircon madalang mag clog. nagpadiagnose ako sa toyota, need daw ibaba ang tank at cleaning, so pinababa ko na ang tank and line cleaning, change fuel filters, change oil narin, nagpalit nrin ako ng SCV pero kasamaang palad ganon parin..

Hilux 3.0, D4D, 11,500kms; no problem with engine. But transmission oil seal damaged.

weak link yata ng Toyota yan... pati sa Rav4 ko eh may tama na din yan. :seeth:

HELP PLEASE!!! I bought an innova E diesel last april 2008 and after a month of use...sobrang usok!!!! they said that they had to rev it up as per factory plant sop during the 1st 1000km check up pero upto now e mausok padin. My odo is just 1450 km and i even had it check last week and they had to rev it up again and sabi re program daw ng ECU pero its barely a week now and after travelling for only 80 km here we go again at sobrang usok na...parang bus!!! when not in motion you can already see a liittle smoke coming out then when you rev it even upto 2000rpm e mausok na and lalo na kapag diinan pa accelarator. I really need anyones help and suggestions lang. PLEASE

I read here about replacing the supply pump pero sabi sa toyota na the symptoms for changing a supply pump is when you have hard starting or namamatayan yung engine after starting. Well it makes sense..

Sbi sa casa that if it happens again then most likely what they need to replace is the fuel injector/ fuel filter.... i don't know if that will solve the problem

Im hoping that anyone can help me and suggest and you might have friends who experience this and what they did with their innova

Sir, same problem pala tayo... i bought my innova last sept 2007, wala pang 1k ung odo nya b4 eh may black smoke na until now meron pa din... ang dami ng ginawa at may napalitan na parts pero ganun pa din... napalitan na nga EGR, fuel filter at recently lang ung fuel injection pero meron pa din black smoke... sa august 29 may appoinment ulit ako sa casa para tignan daw ng quality control ng TMP, sana may magandang mangyari... try mo pa-check sa toyota makati para hindi lang ako nag iisa na may problem na ganun... goodluck saten sir...

And everything from the reprogramming of the ECU to the replacement of the EGR and then the fuel injectors – parehong-pareho.

Sgt. Pepper, my dad also has an appointment on August 29 at Toyota Makati. I think that's the available day of the warranty dude from the Sta. Rosa plant. I told him to look for you – an Innova owner. You two being there will make a good case.

Personally, I regret convincing my dad to get a diesel unit. And the rest of the family, now that around 1.50 na lang ang difference ng diesel at ng premium gasoline, talagang nanghihinayang na. Ayaw na namin ng diesel. Sana nga lang kung pwede, 4x2 RAV4 na lang ang ipalit since insignificant difference price-wise – magdadagdag na lang ng 7k bucks. Di namin alam kung talagang pwede. But we're REALLY hoping.

By the way, our unit was bought in December (2007).

revorayala...cgro you should bring it to toyota... and ask them if your unit is recall...kasi yun s uncle ko 2005 model ( in that year daw may recall ang fuel pump), kaya sha namamatay when cold start. bring it to toyota para mapalitan nila fuel pump mo. hope it helps

most of the time, they will say that wala na sa warranty period. better discuss this with your dealer before expiration of your warranty period.

good day! mga sir tanong ko lang po kung normal lang pag nagbabawas ng coolant. kasi ung innova ko july 2013 ko nakuha tapos nung dec 2013 kalahati nalang. tinawag ko sa SA sabi normal lang daw un pinadagdagan sakin ng distilled water hanggang sa full. tapos ngayon po nasa kalahati nalang uli... pina check ko na po sa casa wala naman daw leak... good day! mga sir tanong ko lang po kung normal lang pag nagbabawas ng coolant. kasi ung innova ko july 2013 ko nakuha tapos nung dec 2013 kalahati nalang. tinawag ko sa SA sabi normal lang daw un pinadagdagan sakin ng distilled water hanggang sa full. tapos ngayon po nasa kalahati nalang uli... pina check ko na po sa casa wala naman daw leak... Nung nag40K pms ako, pinapalitan ko ng coolant. It was topped off sa F (full) level. Habang ginagamit ko ay napansin kong bumababa ang level so top off uli ako. After a few more weeks ay bumaba na naman so nagtop off na naman ako. Again after a few more weeks baba na naman sya so inisip ko na baka at F level ay sobra sya dun sa optimum level na related sa "expansion space." To check my theory, hindi ako nagtatop off even though pag malamig ay nasa topmost part yung level ng letter L. Pag mainit, yung coolant level ay nasa F. For so many weeks now ay nakapako na sya rito at di na bumababa pa. Sa kin hanggat di umaabot sa Low level talaga ay hindi pa dapat magtop off. Weekly ko minomonitor level ng coolant (dapat daily) at hanggang ngayon di na ko nagadd. Huli ako nagadd mga Oct.or Nov last year.

Ask ko lang mga guys if you experience in your innova. Mine kasi I was driving at a speed of 120km and may black smoke daw na nakita ang uncle ko kasi at that time they are behind me, but below that speed ok naman wala usok anu kaya yun guys. Siguro report ko na lang sa casa malapit na din me mag 20km PMS.

well in my part i never experienced any problem yet with my D4D innovaG i bought it last May 21, 2009, now ODO at 7k still performing good kahit nakarami na kaming long distances road trips..

matagal na akong nagbabasa dto , tanong ko lang hindi kaya may mga taga isuzu, mitsubishi at iba pang car manufacturer dto na para manira lang?, kasi may mga comment na negative at meron naman na positive, peace mga bro, just asking...i hope mali ako...thanks
