that's kinda' low. mine i started to get at 7.5km/l - Baguio traffic + uphill roads. now i got 9.5km/l mix city and hiway driving. btw, using the vvti G AT variant.

I agree with leonleon. I'm bit surprised with woohoo's Avanza at nalito nga ako eh... kasi yung mga subic hilux, land cruiser, etc are not jerky at all. yung mga mekaniko lang ang jerks. mali ang pagkakabit sa kickdown cable.

I don't know about other G A/T's, but mine is that way. Although nowhere near as jerky as the Honda Civic of my boss circa 1995-6... Di ka naman hahampas sa upuan sa Avanza ko (sa Civic ni Boss, halos magka-whiplash ka na. hehehe)... lalo na kung medyo mabilis ang pag-accelerate mo, para ka lang nag-shift sa M/T nang a-little-less-than-perfect.

nge... ang baba... baka you need to break in...

may kickdown cable pa rin ba yung innova? it's a cable connected to the accelerator pedal. usualy wrapped with orange rubber...

Typical Toyota :P I'll try to check my altis manual for any info as chances are they would be the same IMO. Check also the dipstick for the ATF, some cars have the ATF type on it.

vinj,
i already checked the dipstick and it also doesn't state what atf is used. the atf fluid level is about 1/2. the transmission seems to stay in 1st gear longer than usual, in crawling traffic, the feeling is like driving a manual tranny (engaged in 1st gear and foot off the clutch pedal), when you release the gas pedal there's a jerking motion.

Ay hindi naman ganyan yung Avanza ko. hehe. Smooth naman ang pag-decelerate niya, saka very gradual sa low gears.

Indeed, my innova needs "break in" since last thursday pa nakuha ko from Toyota Cebu. And the ODO reads 170 pa. I still dont have time yet for long distance travel.

Regarding the kickdown cable, I'll check it out later.

yung avanza ko parang wala naman akong nakikitang problema sa 1st gear to 2nd gear.. usually nag change gear sya around 2,200rpm from 1st to 2nd gear..

*bratski - baka naman sobrang gaan nang tapak mo.. kaya mabagal sya mag shift?? subukan mo kaya ibaon nang konti.. tingnan mo kung mag shift sya agad..

Mas magaan ang tapak ko sa iyo. Paki-subukan mo nga, bro, yung mabagal na acceleration, kung mararamdaman mo ang pag-shift... kahit minsan lang...

medyo magaan nga ako tumapak, dito ko ramdam yung shift ng 1st to 2nd, pag medyo binigatan ko apak hindi ganun ka jerky yung shifting. econo driving kasi ako lagi to see if hanggang saan ititipid ng innova. but still kahit anong gawin ko hanggang 6.5km/l city driving lang ang best effort ko.
