After driving diesel it's hard to go back to gas.

workaround ideas to discuss among friends: Diesel engines: some taboos still around it

One of the taboos about diesels is related to the maintenance: it's actually not so harder as most people think. Due to the absence of an electric ignition system, they're even simpler to work on. And currently with all that electronic engine management systems all-around, their fuel injection hardwares are getting closer to the a gasoline/E85/CNG/LPG setup, easing the first contacts for mechanics unexperienced on the diesel field.
As far as PMS goes, nowadays it's actually easier than it is in a comparable gasser. Also, the interval between oil changes and other PMS procedures is extended in comparison with a gasser...

Agree here,- whether it is a gas or a diesel variant.....

Test unit is 1.5E Toyota Avanza.

For family use... I agree best go for innova ... pero kung dalaga at binata gagamit o single user go for avanza....

Get the Altis or the Innova... instead of the Avanza.

The avanza was just right for our needs.... compact for 1 person driving then convertible yung space that can load yung buong drums set ng anak ko and lagyan ng cage sa likod for my dogs.

Talagang kanya-kanya needs ng tao... kaya nung nag usap kami ng anak ko medyo magkaiba kami ng opinion on what to get for his ride... sa porma kasi sabi ng anka ko mas gusto niya sedan... pero sabi ko you need space for your drum set and space if ever may mga group project kayo... you can accomodate your classmates... also sabi ko ... kapag kumuha ako example ng toyota fortuner papayag ako na makipag palit palit ng ride sa iyo kasi fit din sa need ko yung avanza.

isa pa uli mga boss. automatic na ba na may rustproof ang mga bagong kotse? di ba kasi nilalagay nilang free yun? how can i be sure na na rustproof talaga? or from the factory/plant, e rust proofed na ang kotse?

also, is undercoat a separate thing? thanks!
These are already rustproofed coming out of the factory. No need to apply additional; just keep you car clean and get an underwash once or twice a year.

Pero kung sa highway such as Kennon Rd, Marcos Highway, o Naguillian Rd then I beg to disagree.

Anyway now I need to buy a bigger vehicle kase I have one more passenger. Ayaw daw niya sa bubong ng Alto ko kaya ito din ang choices ko for my second vehicle: either the diesel Innova 2.5J or the Avanza 1.5G. Limited ang budget ko (although I can just barely afford the Innova J) and limited din parking space sa loob ng bahay ko for two cars. The Avanza fits perfectly sa extra parking space but the Innova just barely makes it. Most of the time ako at ang gf ko lang nagpapasyal sa mga malls so I'm more decided with the 1.5G Avanza due to easier city driving such as faster acceleration when needed to overtake those jeepneys, clearer all around view, and cheaper spare parts. If I had a bigger budget, bigger parking space, a bigger crowd of regular passengers, and lived in the province I'd choose the Innova. As to fuel prices I still don't know and very much interested that is why I'm posting in this forum.

Now that were uasing the Innova, 1 full tank of diesel last 11/2 weeks plus fuel is cheaper.

Sitting capacity is almost the same but the Innova is a bit bigger. Cargo capacity, Innova also wins. Noise, the Avanza is better, I hate the diesel clatter of the Innova. Overall, if I can only choose 1, I'll go ith the Innova.

If this is true with regards to the fuel consumption then I'm interested in the Innova but parang ang laki kung dalawa lang kami most of the time. But such a low fuel price usage is very attractive if true. I'm interested to hear more such comments.
