Submitted by thaifortuneruser on Sat, 2005-12-31 03:44.
We test Toyota Fortuner with BEISSBARTH brake tester on 6/12/2005 in Bangkok THAILAND.

We found the brake efficiency was 45% (below standrad)
Brake force front axis left 3310 newton right 2870 newton
Rear axis left 1730 newton right 1390 newton
    Brake imbalance front axis 13%
    Rear axis 19%

ROAD TEST on 5/12 /48 found brake rotor temperature rise
550 degree Centrigrade, brake pad crack , experienced brake fade and must increase pedal Force about 30% to obtain same stop distance.

Sorry to disappoint you guys if I posted this thread with links that can't be understood by us. But I managed to get some english version which I believe can be the main reason why they did the brake testing of the Fortuner. One complaints was logged about the brake problems last Oct 28, 2005 wherein a furious engineer owner of Fortuner smashes his Fortuner windscreen in anger due to inability of Toyota to fix his brake problems. The brake testing was done on Dec 6, 2005 as posted by a concerned thai Fortuner user in this site. I believe there might be really a problem. This the site:http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/lofive...hp?t48410.html

At least the Toyota in Thailand, knows how to respond properly to the customer's complaint, unlike Toyota Motors Philippines, who are soooo discrete to the point of denial.

Perhaps Toyota should now start rethinking their business model especially in Thailand, and put the brand in the safekeeping of Filipino hands.

Para sa akin, that's alarming considering the size of the fortuner.

Yup. Fortuners sold in the Phils comes from Thailand.

It started last year when a relatively wealthy Thai smashed her CRV with a baseball bat (if I remember correctly) after repeated attempts to have Honda replace her car. I can't remember exactly what the complain was all about. To cut the story short she got what she wanted. Although she opted for a cash settlement instead.

Engine problems and now brake problems? It seems Toyota has scored a double whammy sa IMV project nila ano? Major and critical defects pa kung ko consider.
Well, I have worked in Thailand before for almost 4 years and I know that if a thai guy really get pissed, they are inclined to do drastic things. The smashing of a thai Fortuner owner of his windshield in anger is just a simple reaction. Some will even go to the extent of killing somebody as I've witnessed in my former company. Tanggal sila pareho.
Para sa akin, tama lang ang ginawa ng thai Fortuner owner to force Toyota to act kasi bingi ang mga Taga Toyota kaya sa action nya ginawa. Sabi nga : "Action speaks louder than words" he...he ..he. Ganyan din yata hintay ng Toyota sa pinas na scenario, smashing of their pinagmamalaking IMV vehicles with the presence of media.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL TSIKOTEERS AND HOPE MORE TSIKOTEERS TO COME!!!

i dont think so, hehe! tayong mga pinoy ay maingat sa gamit aside from the fact we think its market value + kng memories pa bago mo nabili.

at least for the thai, they were able to achieved what they want -- parang mga bata anoh?! pagd-naibigay ang gusto wawasakin yng gamit.
