Most of these small engine mpvs will require 4000rpm to go up baguio if youre in a hurry. Marcos highway is forgiving compared to naguillan or kenon.

Even mirages/g4 can go to baguio without incident. And their torque is 100nm. We have short gears for inclines. You cant expect driving to baguio under 3000rpm(higher inclines) with these eco cars/mpvs.

Weakest car I've driven up Kennon was the Revo diesel. It was loaded with 7pax plus luggage. Max torque of that engine is 165Nm, IIRC. Managed the climb in around 40mins and with aircon on all the way. Pace was by no means crawling, but engine rpm was almost always at 3-4k. Chugged down a hell of a lot of diesel too.

even on flat, even roads, with only one passenger (the driver), i found the revo diesel lacking in zip. but it doesn't complain, either. it just lugs along like a carabao (tamaraw? heh heh.)
i guess that's a common problem among older diesel engines..

^Compared to most gas engines or turbo diesels, it definitely is somewhat lacking. I've never had problems with it in city driving though. Very short gear ratios allow for acceleration good enough for me not to look bad upon peeling away from a stoplight. Difference in performance between just me and a full house actually isn't that much, testament to it's low end torque. Lugs along like a carabao indeed.

P is Park, you set it here when you Park

N is Neutral, set it here if you are stationary but not parked.

R is Reverse, self explanatory naman siguro

D is Drive, use this for normal driving

3-2 is the gear ratios, picking either will set the max gear ratio na gagamitin ng kotse to the 3rd/2nd respectively
(i.e. kung 4 speed auto ka, magiging max gear na gagamitin niya is 3/2 lang.)

L is Low gear, or 1. uses the 1st gear ratio only. Ussually used to slowly climb steep inclines, i.e. slippery park ramps

as for the handbrake, works the same as in a manual car, and yes masisira yan if you keep forgetting to disengage it.

I am dismayed na walang driver seat height adjustment ito....
Ok na sana, Fuel consumption na lang inaantay ko tapos biglang

mukhang toyota ang may routine driver seat height adjustment. daihatsu does not seem to have, routinely.

Use automatic..it is smoother and will prolong the life of your transmission.

Use D for normal driving. Those lower gears in the shifter are meant for overtaking (D3) and uphill driving (D2 & L), this allows you to access higher engine rpms as needed only.

Walang manual shift override (+/- function) ang transmission mo, so you do not have total control over the gear shifting. Best to leave it in D for 99% of driving conditions. 3, 2 and L merely inhibit shifting. L allows only 1st gear, 2 allows 1st and 2nd, and 3 allows 1st to 3rd. These are normally used when climbing steep inclines.
