This happens to units that do not have their oil changed regularly (every 5,000kms), even if they use synthetic oil. When searching, look for a unit whose owner can provide records that he regularly services the cars. We have a 2007 Altis J with almost 120,000kms on the odo and with the regular oil change, it's running with no problems.
