Daihatsu and Toyota have always had a close working relationship as far as I could remember.

Plants that make other brands are common practice in the automotive industry and has not really proven detrimental in terms of brand image and perception.

Even Columbian Auto Cars used to make BMW's back in the day.

I've tested the new Avanza and it's a good automobile in itself. I wouldn't mind it being badged as a Daihatsu, Perodua (it's name in Malaysia) or even without a badge. I would consider it's good virtues such as readily available parts, inexpensive maintenance, and respectable build quality.

Only thing I don't like is the lack of a lighter socket. But we corrected that on my friend's unit within 48 hours of delivery (I had a lighter socket installed by my Banawe pals).

300 i think? May mga kasabay kasing ibang items like alarm, led dome lights, spare tire lock.

The lighter costs less than 150 at the mall.

Have a 1.3 avanza e a/t. My only complaint so far is the obvious shift shock when going through the gears and it sometimes jerks a little bit if you are on a standstill and the transmission is engaged on Drive.

    Sir,

In the long run, mababawi mo ung price difference ng Innova against the Avanza. Mas malaki ng hamak ang Innova at mas malakas ang makina. Kung kakayanin mong tiisin na walang amenities like power door locks/central locking/alarm, power windows, power side mirrors, I suggest you seriously consider buying an Innova instead. I know someone who will put power windows and power door locks/central locking/alarm for 21K.

Traffic is traffic. Even 1.3 liter small cars with automatics suck gas like hell in traffic.

In my experience, the Avanza 1.5 AT is not as economical as a Yaris 1.5 AT, but it's still more economical (by far) than an Innova 2.0 VVTi or an APV.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

mag 5 yrs na yung 1.5G matic ko.. di pa naman bumaba sa 6km/liter kahit heavy bumper to bumper traffic.. consistent 7km/liter on heavy traffic ang FC ko.. so mababa yang 5km/liter.. baka tipong 5kms eh 1 hour mo tinatakbo pag ganyan..

so far on my last full tank, i logged in 67,442.38 kms at 8,532.03 liters so that's 7.90km/liter..

I have 1.3 M/T before and I can get 10-11km/li using XCS, now I have 1.3 A/T and got 9.3-10.5 km/li on the same road and the same type of driving.
