its not the manufacturer's fault... its the Governments who impose strict emissions regulations on current and future cars.
yes. lenient tayo with the Euro-4 requirement. pero manufacturers naman wont create/design a vehicle for Philippine use only.
1st world (incl China and India) have started requiring Euro-6 standards on their vehicles.
Pati ASEAN neighbors natin have started implementing stricter requirements (yung iba naman, tax deductions to more efficient vehicles)
kaya manufacturers have no choice but to make engines smaller and bodies lighter.
or go hybrid/electric
and phase out diesel

I remember the Vios' sales was once stopped in Singapore because it cannot meet their local emission requirements, same reason why the Mobilio was not available there.

May 16th, 2023 04:02 PM #8972Planned obsolescence was not one in the Japanese mindset before. I think this idea is American (Hello Apple).
Because Japanese people throw anything after a number of years (3-5 yrs) to replace them with new one.
Their reason is so that those people working on creating these products will still have jobs by creating new one for their consumption.
Also, iikot din daw pera within Japan so they have to buy new one to save the jobs of these employees and their economy.
Kahit matibay pa itapon talaga nila yan for this reason and their mindset.
Kaya lang due to globalization, need din nila mag adopt and nahaluan na nga ng planned obsolescence some Japanese products.
Back to the topic, yeah fuel economy and safety main reason to switch to lighter kaha

I remember when I was in college, 91 RON was just P11.50 per liter. Ang layo nang narating ng P20.00 ko gamit sa underbone.

December 27th, 2023 11:04 AM #8980it depends.
was it driven by a little old lady only on sundays, to Church?
or was it driven only on sundays, because that is the day of the Demolition Derby?
condition. condition. condition.
heh heh
i was advised, years ago, the advertised prices online is a good guide.
but one has to visit the cars to see just in what condition it is, because people's definition of almost-new or good condition, vary considerably.
Be careful with channels like "China Observer" on YouTube. There is a clear bias in their posts and...
