perhaps chyll2's response (#8207 above) qualify..
but really.. the internet is years full of "information" declaring that using higher octane fuel than what the manufacturer recommends, is a waste of money.
what i do know, is that sometimes the engine is a little "out of whack". you know.. too advanced ignition timing... overheating engines.. cylinders so full of crud that their compression ratios are significantly higher.. these types of engines do benefit from higher octane fuel use, because it prevents pre-ignition.
i used to have an older, non-toyota car. the manual says i can use as low as 91 octane. which i did. but from time to time, going up a steep ramp, the engine does knock a bit.. so i just turn the aircon off, and the knock disappears.

i suppose, knowing what your car can and can not do, and what you want it to do, helps in determining what fuel the user will choose to use.

Odo reading is 3800+ km

check, sir.. is the sound coming from the left front wheel, or is it coming from under the driver's flooring?
my innovas are like those. it's not coming from the wheel, but from under, somewhere.. and i have long ago given up on it. it does not affect drive-ability..

also, is it possible, the sound is coming from the driver's seat itself? perhaps a mounting bolt is loose.. just tighten it, sir. madali lang yan. and if you are lucky, the dealer/manufacturer will have included a wrench inside the tool pouch, that fits the bolt.

no, engine flush is not necessary. i always decline, and my warranties are still intact.
if it were necessary and i declined, the warranty will have been void then and there.

so why recommend it? increased income... on their part! and, well... some people believe in it.. some... don't.

    quripot talaga si dr. d...

Flushing is not necessary.
Ang importante is regular ang maintenance mo and you are using the recommended oil viscosity grade & API rating para sa sasakyan mo.

Basically petroleum based then at ang malaking porsiyento nito ay kerosene.
Then pag nilagay mo na yun new engine oil then makokontaminate na rin sya.

engine flush is just like binabanlawan ang labada.
some believe in it, others do not.
