October 12th, 2023 08:22 AM #71I think not. Full hybrids do not have a dedicated starter motor. The separate 12V battery is there only to energize the high voltage relays and the car electronics when you push the start button.

December 9th, 2023 04:20 PM #74Curious if there are owners with (anecdotal) FC figures same with what Toyota PH have released for the Yaris Cross HEV?
"According to TMP’s recent post, the hybrid subcompact crossover can supposedly do up to 33.3km/L in the city. On the highway, it goes down a bit to a still-impressive 25.64km/L. Combined, you’re looking at 27.78km/L. These numbers were achieved after tests under controlled environments following internationally accepted fuel consumption test protocol under UN Regulations No. 101."
Even getting high 20s for City Driving FC would be amazing already. If these figures are realistically achievable, then that is truly something for city conditions.
Curious what the data is when their figures were obtained and if they were compared to manual computation via full tank method?

December 21st, 2023 02:32 PM #76Toyota'''s Daihatsu to halt vehicle shipments as safety scandal widens
The local Yaris Cross and Raize are both Daihatsu sourced models. I think Wigo as well as Avanza are Daihatsu sourced as well. Will we see a sudden stop in availability of these models?

TMP claims that the DNGA-based cars exported to the Philippines are NOT affected (Avanza, Raize, Rush, Veloz, Vios, Wigo, and Yaris Cross).
I find it odd that the bulk of Toyota's ASEAN inventory is affected but TMP claims ours is not. News reports say that Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Vietnam in Asia are part of the areas affected (in addition to most of Latin America).

December 21st, 2023 08:16 PM #79Toyota Philippines is plainly not being honest here. Daihatsu admitting that they cheated on the safety certification tests is tantamount to saying that the models have a design related safety issue so how can they claim that the local models are not affected? They are of the same design after all. It's not like an airbag where you can claim the parts that were installed on the models here were not bad. I think they're just saying that to make sure that they can sell whatever inventory they have on hand. Anyway time will tell. Daihatsu saying that they will not be shipping any cars globally means that their supply of new cars will run out.
