Bye bye 2.0L gasoline variant (that allowed them to have low starting price before).

Disappointing updates really. Just a new front, new head unit, backup camera and sensors really. No safety sense, cruise control, or even the 7 airbags found in the Vios, Altis, Rush.

They can get away with it since there's no real competitor. The E trim is still fair, but buyers will opt for a mid-size SUV if budget is in the 1.5M range already.

    mahal talaga ang brand new.

    at that price,
one might consider a well-maintained pre-owned but considerably higher-end vehicle...

So true. at its price point dapat at least 6 airbags na yung G or V model. Considering most of their other car line up already has a minimum of 6 airbags, even those priced at almost half that of the innova.

If you're after SRS, the Terra even in EL trim already has 6 airbags standard, that's cheaper than the G Innova. I think the VE is around the same price as the Innova G lol.

Though it misses out on ESC. Both are equally important imo, ESC is preventive, SRS is supplementary.

What LTO should prioritize aren't just MVIS or child seats, but mandated standard safety features. Front, side, curtain Airbags and ESC should be on all vehicles.

    That sounds unnecessarily burdensome.

Will all old cars lacking those features now be illegal to operate?

Of course not, only for new vehicles. Even in the US, old vehicles without any safety features are still on the road. But all new vehicles are required AEB as standard.

If the lowly Vios can provide some of these, why not the newer, more expensive MPVs, SUVs?

    nope.
back-legislation is generally not allowed, unless the folks benefit from it.

Agreed. some who will upgrade their innovas might be looking forward into the current fortuner. Possibly 2.4L V, Q 2.8L or even the LTD 4x2 variants.

TMP should brought the Q variant here with all the bells and whistles, safety sense included.

I also find the updates... disappointing

    Although
    • New front looks better (compared to the previous look)
    • Android Auto/CarPlay is always a big plus

    Disappointments
    • No change sa rear
    • No reverse camera and DRL except for the V variant

Are they giving away a free dashcam? (TOTL Wigo has it)

I can live with the missing airbags...

Pero (personally), parang ang luma ng car kapag walang reverse camera (driver's point of view) and DRL (bystander's point of view)
