some authors recommend replacement of all fluids and filters upon purchase of the used car.
it would appear, they do not trust the previous owner's ministrations and would like to play it safe.
but if you feel the previous owner treated the car well enough, the scheduled regular changes should suffice...

i do not recall replacing our wigo's fuel filter since new, over 5 years ago.
but if pms says replace it, then i probably did.
    i just do not remember.

perusing the owner's manual, i do not remember finding any pms figure on the diesel engine's fuel filter replacement.
i haven't replaced mine in over 100K km.
i am waiting for the fuel filter warning light to catch my attention, before i replace it.

apparently, today's gasoline and diesel fuels are much cleaner than they were before.

Im surprised that you haven't replaced your fuel filter element for d4-d innova. I remember a choking problem for the 1st gen innova so ever since I make sure to replaced it yearly and it just cost around 300 pesos anyway. For the fuel filter warning light I know if there is presence of water in the fuel filter it will lit up.

As for wigo, so it is not written in the manual to replaced it every let say 10,000km? If not then should be included in the 40,000km change all fluid and filters.

i have the first gen D4d innova.
it had a choking problem? i never heard of it.
but toyota does have this habit of replacing potentially problematic items, without much fanfare, during the pms...
i did not experience the choking issue.
    lucky?

but i did replace it, very early on, because the water warning light lit up.
i have not replaced it since. over 100K km na.

    nope. no issues for me.

i think, that tank issue involved only the gasoline variants...?
something about clogged pressure equalizer systems (breather tubes), i believe.

Unless the seller can show proof of recent service (service rcord/receipts), I would change it. Fluids and filters are cheap anyway.

the gas variant theory is my personal thought only, po.

a number of critics of the Vvti gas innova, mention the perceived lack in engine performance. they don't seem to complain about the fuel appetite.
kasi naman, if one is coming from the gas revo's fuel appetite...
perusing the online cars for sale,
when i come across a seeming cheaper innova... it usually is a gas variant. the diesels are still significantly higher priced.

if you are satisfied with it naman, and it is not giving you trouble,
    hold on to it.
i can not think of a sedan or hatch, whose interior space can even begin to approach the innova's.
you are probably better off with it, than a used car that you have no idea regarding the history thereof.

So far at 100k no major breakdown. Only the aircon evaporator replaced it twice. The alternator, compressor, radiator and water pump still running.

I have a little issue with my Wigo.

The unit is 3 years old, with 51k mileage. Now, i recently noticed that the car's RPM fluctuates while idling. The RPM fluctuates a little, but it doesnt reach the number "1" on the gauge.

I also feel like the car is wheezing.

Anybody here in Tsikot experience this?? thanks.
