April 25th, 2014 09:21 PM #622014 Yaris 1.5G white owner here. Got mine before holy week.
I dont think many people will buy Yaris with all the promos and discount from Vios.
I havent computed my FC using the fill up gas tank method yet.
So far its quick in acceleration. Nimble and light to drive compared to my ageing fort.

April 26th, 2014 05:16 PM #63Mga sirs, if you're to buy toyota yaris which one would you prefer? 1.3E MT or 1.3E AT? Di ba hirap ang 1.3 na makina for a hatchback size na kaha?
Passenger would be 4-5 adults but most of the time 2-3 lang. Obviously mas maganda talaga kung 1.5G but ayaw ko lumampas sa 800K mark na presyo
and pwede pa siguro kung 1.5 na MT but since walang 1.5G MT na variant, options are left between 1.3E MT or AT.

April 26th, 2014 07:19 PM #64I dont think the 1.3 is lacking in power. Vios has 1.3 engine and its heavier than Yaris. For city driving I think its more than enough. Unless you're gonna climb on a steep carpark ramp.

April 26th, 2014 07:31 PM #65Thanks sir. . Mostly city driving and maybe occasional out-of-town trips to tagaytay or batangas with 5 peps. Or maybe Baguio kung kakayanin ng kotse with 5 passenger including driver. The only climb it'll be doing mostly is when entering building's car park like sa megamall. With this, which one would work best? MT or AT?

April 26th, 2014 08:08 PM #67thank you sir.. considering AT also but was told na mas maganda daw mag MT just incase we decide to take it out-of-town.. which is likely once or twice a month.. if I decide to take it to say baguio, would you think walang magiging problema using the AT or mas maganda MT on this type of road? sorry po kung makulit.

April 26th, 2014 10:54 PM #68I went from MT to AT and di nako nabalik sa MT. Why? Because if your purpose is city driving mostly and rush hour traffic ang route then goodluck to you legwork. I wont go back to MT

April 26th, 2014 11:38 PM #69AT versus MT has been a long-running debate. there's even a thread here exclusively for that. there are pros and cons for either.
and after a very long discussion, it's still a personal choice on what you may prefer.
i have both AT and MT. and there are days, when i can not even second-guess what i'm gonna want to drive today..
1.3 liter engines are underpowered? depends on what you gonna do with it.. are you gonna race it up steep inclines like race up to baguio? or are you gonna get stuck in traffic for long periods of time?
good luck.Last edited by dr. d; April 26th, 2014 at 11:41 PM.

Just to add:
I've driven 1.3's to baguio (kennon, marcos and naguillan roads) and makiling (center for performing arts). Modern 1.3's can easily negotiate these roads (probably due to the power-to-weight ratio of modern cars). We were three in the car when we went to makiling and most of the time 4 when we went up to baguio.
yespo. while being quoted does give some credence of credibility, i would like to read about...
