saw a black one parked sa Market Market kanina. Ganda.
Halos magkamukha nga sila ni Vios sa unang tingin sa harapan.

I love hatches.

2014 Yaris 1.5G white owner here. Got mine before holy week.
I dont think many people will buy Yaris with all the promos and discount from Vios.
I havent computed my FC using the fill up gas tank method yet.
So far its quick in acceleration. Nimble and light to drive compared to my ageing fort.

Mga sirs, if you're to buy toyota yaris which one would you prefer? 1.3E MT or 1.3E AT? Di ba hirap ang 1.3 na makina for a hatchback size na kaha?
Passenger would be 4-5 adults but most of the time 2-3 lang. Obviously mas maganda talaga kung 1.5G but ayaw ko lumampas sa 800K mark na presyo
and pwede pa siguro kung 1.5 na MT but since walang 1.5G MT na variant, options are left between 1.3E MT or AT.

I dont think the 1.3 is lacking in power. Vios has 1.3 engine and its heavier than Yaris. For city driving I think its more than enough. Unless you're gonna climb on a steep carpark ramp.

Thanks sir. . Mostly city driving and maybe occasional out-of-town trips to tagaytay or batangas with 5 peps. Or maybe Baguio kung kakayanin ng kotse with 5 passenger including driver. The only climb it'll be doing mostly is when entering building's car park like sa megamall. With this, which one would work best? MT or AT?

Its really up to you. Me I choose AT for the super heavy traffic.

I went from MT to AT and di nako nabalik sa MT. Why? Because if your purpose is city driving mostly and rush hour traffic ang route then goodluck to you legwork. I wont go back to MT

AT versus MT has been a long-running debate. there's even a thread here exclusively for that. there are pros and cons for either.
and after a very long discussion, it's still a personal choice on what you may prefer.
i have both AT and MT. and there are days, when i can not even second-guess what i'm gonna want to drive today..

1.3 liter engines are underpowered? depends on what you gonna do with it.. are you gonna race it up steep inclines like race up to baguio? or are you gonna get stuck in traffic for long periods of time?

    good luck.

    Just to add:

I've driven 1.3's to baguio (kennon, marcos and naguillan roads) and makiling (center for performing arts). Modern 1.3's can easily negotiate these roads (probably due to the power-to-weight ratio of modern cars). We were three in the car when we went to makiling and most of the time 4 when we went up to baguio.

Sir, during your trips to baguio, MT ba gamit mo? ano po ba diff kung MT or AT ang gamit na kotse paakyat ng baguio? mas hirap ang ba ang AT?

MT or AT, its still the same power bec it is still the same engine.
AT is easier to climb on steep roads with heavy traffic. You dont need to constantly adjust your clutch pedal, brake pedal and gas pedal throttle during uphill climb.
Try doing that with a MT during uphill with stop and go movement. You'll be slipping backwards and hit the car at the back.
