April 1st, 2014 01:29 PM #31exact same look as the Thailand model, right? sayang nga talaga na 4speed AT lang. better if 5speed AT, best if CVT. malakas sa revs pag 4speed eh.

April 2nd, 2014 02:42 PM #36^^^ sorry hindi pa rin clear. the most important thing to me is the transmission. talagang 4AT lang ba ang top of the line?

Went to the showroom to check out the Yaris today. Interior is basically a Vios with orange gauges.
I also noticed that it's slightly smaller than the Vios. This is evidenced by the lack of a center storage console/armrest. They took it out to maximize space for the middle rear passenger.
Rear cargo is pretty generous for a hatch.
Drivetrain is exactly the same as the Vios. That's a 4AT for those gear counters.
Gone is the cutesy Yaris of old. This is a larger, more practical, but also more boring car. Perfect for the average pinoy buyer who wants the Vios' practicality with a bit more style.

is the Yaris imported from Thailand?
dapat nga made in PH din ito since it now shares with the Vios and the Vios is made in TMPC Plant in Sta. Rosa.

Saw 3 of them last night displayed at Resorts World, they look good....
Yup, they should have "upgraded" to 5AT or CVT... Wonder why?
Being the spartan that Toyota is, they still stuck to the vintage 4AT.....

Agree that this needs to be peer reviewed. Sounds too good to be true.
