Regarding the fences, naisuggest ko sa U tube not too long ago, fences has to be at least 10 to 12 feet high or higher than the trains so double armour sa trains. The fence after the 10 feet height, ibend nila inward para hindi maglaland sa roof ng trains ang basurang ibinabato nila. Thats only up to the metro manila areas and areas with people living near the tracks. Distance of fence would be at least 10 to 20 feet away from the riles. magastos pero kailangan, instead of fighting the people doing this.
PNR reps also can have a town talk meeting with the residents to make them understand that doing this , will hurt not only people in the trains, but may hurt a future good economic plan for them through possible malls or business plans in their area. Ang daming benepiciong makukuha sa PNR come back na ito and I am very positive on this, huwag lang may magcorrupt sa taas. Crossing my fingers. Salamat po.

    (Part 1 of 3)

Hi guys, last Tuesday ay mag-tren na Commex T-404 sana ako from Buendia to Blumentritt kasi may official business akong pupuntahan sa may Sta. Cruz Manila.

^^ Plasser & Theurer OBW 10-S going South bound

Also present in track # 3

    Finally, on board CX-109

Along the way, nagtanong ako sa kundoktor kung bakit delay yun T-404.

Good pictures. Thank you very much. They are very beautifull shots and obviously, ang mga trabahador nag trabaho talaga. They deserve their names listed on a wall on all the stations plus sana may pictures nila. I hope I am not asking too much.

PNR train bogs down in inaugural run

NAGA CITY, Philippines - It took more than five hours for the commuter train of the Philippine National Railways to travel through the 80-kilometer stretch (not 377 km as earlier reported) in its inaugural run, on Wednesday.

And before it could embark on another trip, the old engines of the train, which traveled from Tagkawayan, Quezon, to Naga City, in Camarines Sur, bogged down.

Leaving Tagkawayan station at about 5 a.m., the commuter train, which was expected to arrive at 9 a.m. at the Naga PNR Station, came an hour late.

Nevertheless, the train was welcomed here by the excited crowd, who had not been served by the PNR, for three years.

The PNR has scheduled the Tagkawayan-Naga, Naga-Ligao, Ligao-Naga, and Naga-Tagkawayan trips.

But before the commuter train could leave this city to its final Bicol destination in Ligao City in Albay, the locomotives broke down and were sent to the shop for repair.

"The engines are old so they shut down," locomotive operator Romeo Caucil told the Daily Inquirer.

I suppose not all of the coaches are ready yet, but I just noticed , wala pang mga ilaw, like the rear lights or fog lights. The engines have to be repaired first instead of cosmetics. They have to tear down the engine and change the fluids on engine, differentials, transmissions. Try changing this and you will feel a big difference both on performance and handling plus the sound will be more solid, parang kotse din. !

    Agree with the observation.

I have posted pics of the on-going rehab of the trains for the Quezon-Bicol run (courtesy of Bobbymay74)and unfortunately, indeed, they only rebuilding the body of the trains (repair and repaint) but it seems the mechanical parts were not touched.

Hopefully, if funds will come, they should also tune up, replaced old parts and re-calibrate all the trains.

    JPDM,

Truly, thanks for all the wonderfull pictures. I am no loco loko but when I saw the fixing of PNR on U Tube, I had the effect. The shock and awe effect. Ang ganda, sana ifeature sa ABS CBN under reality tv/program . Uso dito sa America and you know from the everyday shots of renovation will be , I bet you, will be viewed widely. I have no single pakialam sa train system , maski na bullet train pa yan or the French GTV, pero pagdating sa PNR railways, I am really affected coz I think this is a big symbol of the Philippines. Dapat palitan nila ng sign ang PNR sign to a heart figure, lol, O A lang ako. But I truly love this trains, I rode them some 40 years ago. Sarap.

well it's about time, grabe ang travel time papuntang Bicol pag mag bbus ka. It's good na maayos din ang railways ng pinas, less travel time, walang traffic, ma eestimate mo pa kung anong oras ka dadating sa pupuntahan mo.

Most importantly less buses plying our roads para mabawasan ang traffic.

    flashtrader,
I agree with you especially the part when you said lessening the travel time using the busses , and not only that, macha challenge ngayon ang mga lokong bus drivers na ginagamit pati ang emergency lanes just to get where they want to go. If they don't change their lousy driving habits they will loose some if not, all their passengers. I hope this PNR comeback will change a lot sa Pinas. Crossing my fingers, Mabuhay tayong lahat.

    Sana nga.

So that the PNR can earn more and improve further their services i.e. more new trains, new rails and new stations.
