SOURCE: | PHILIPPINE ARENA | Worlds Largest Dome | Ciudad de Victoria*|*Alternative Filipino News Media | PINOYWORLD |
    POSTED: August 21, 2011

The Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) - Church of Christ , is making another history by developing scores of hectares of barren farm land into a site of national pride – the PHILIPPINE ARENA.

Located at Ciudad de Victoria, which literally means “City of Victory”, the PHILIPPINE ARENA will be an expansive and said to be the Largest Domed Arena in the world which has seating capacity of 50,000 after its completion.

The use of the said facility will not be limited to Iglesia Ni Cristo. In his Groundbreaking speech aired over Net25, Iglesia Ni Cristo Executive Minister Eduardo V. Manalo said that the said edifice is for the welfare of men, the honor of the Philippines and mostly, for the glory of God.

INC Executive Minister Eduardo Manalo also recognized the support of the national and local government for the realization of the plans of building the 50,000 seating capacity dome.

Philippines Speaker of the House Sonny Belmonte said in an interview that “…it will be a phenomenal structure, edifice and development, on its own, (is) for the country. Its more than ambitious. It is historic.”

He further adds that the construction is a dream come true.

The PHILIPPINE ARENA is estimated to cost USD 175 Million and will be completed in around 30 months, just in time for Iglesia Ni Cristo’s Centennial Celebration on July 27, 2014.

Architectural design proofs were provided by worldwidely respected Architectural Design Firm POPULOUS (Populous®) of Australia, and BURO HAPPOLD (Buro Happold - International engineering consultants) of United Kingdom.

Construction of the Arena was awarded to Hanwha Engineering and Construction Corp. (HANWHA Engineering & Construction).

Architectural Design Consultant Andrew James of Populous, Architectural Design Consultant Chris Sparrow of Buro Happold, and Hanwha Engineering and Construction Corp. vice chairman Kim Hyun-chung, represented their respective firms in the Groundbreaking Ceremony held last week.

POPULOUS is a global design practice company with global offices in 12 major cities. The company specializes in comprehensive design services, including sports architecture, conference and exhibition center architecture, interior design, environmental graphics and way-finding, events planning and overlay, master planning, sustainable design consulting and facilities operations and analysis. Their portfolio of completed projects includes the Yankee Stadium, Hong Kong Stadium, and Dubai Autodrome. Populous was chosen to provide Architectural and Overlay Design Services for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games venues aside from the major function of providing designs for the main stadium.

BURO HAPPOLD is also a structural design firm with presence in America, Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa. Buro Happold is known worldwide for its Environmental Infrastructure designs for well-known modern landmarks of the world, to include Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Royal Shakespear Theatre(UK), SAbal Al Ahmad Sea City (Kuwait) to name a few.

Hanwha Engineering and Construction Corp. will take the helm in the construction of the edifice which is expected to complete in 30 months. The company is known for their efficient, state-of-the-art and massive building system that can allow them to create cities in shorter span of time.

Their current projects include the construction of a new town east of Bhagdad worth USD 7.25 Billion, and the development of the eco-friendly housing complex which is expected to accomodate approximately 12,000 housing, educational, cultural and commercial facilities in Incheon, South Korea.

    CIUDAD DE VICTORIA

Ciudad de Victoria is a farmland, turned Historic landmark, along North Luzon Express Way (NLEX), at the borders of Bocaue and Sta. Maria Bulacan, Philippines
This expansive land in between the borders of Bocaue and Sta. Maria, Bulacan is not only home to the largest domed arena in the world. The said area will also be an area where an Erano G. Manalo (EGM) Medical Center will be built. It is also expected, after completion, that the New Era University Bocaue Campus will be moved to the new infrastructure of the New Era University Sports Complex. Just around the vicinity, a state-of-the-art EVM Convention Center will also provide world-class theater and convention facilities to all Filipinos
mukhang kaya na ng Pilipinas mag-host ng malalaking world event like olympics and other concerts..another score for the tourism ito at ang nakakagulat it will be funded by a private organization.

nice talaga. could be the new home of philippine football too. at the very least pwedeng pwede na ito sa fifa standards. considering koreans naman ang contractors, i'm surmising they're knowledgeable when it comes to those stuff being an asian football powerhouse

i'm just wondering though if this will be near or at least very accessible to the north railway system. by that time naman siguro operational na din iyon

    Football sounds good!!!

tama2x, since "TOP NOTCH" talaga yung kinuha nilang contractors and architectural firm, HANWHA ENG. & CONSTRUCTION CORP. and POPULOUS (the architectural designer of Toyota Center and PEPSI center arena in U.S and other famous arena and convention center in the world) talaga world-class ito,

I've been on the bocaue area and tanaw na tanaw itong site ng Philippine arena- Cuidad de Victoria, sabi in 30 months lang daw ang magiging duration ng construction sakto para sa centennial anniversary ng INC at sila unang gagamit then open na for the public functions.
