the 25 S211 jet trainers were acquired in the late 1980s and early 1990s. the contract was signed during the time of president Cory Aquino.
the sf260 aircraft presently operating are no longer the ones bought in the 1970s and 80s. the older ones were bought in the 1970s, the next batch under Cory and Ramos. the latest 18 new SF260TP were bought in 2011 by the present administration.
the same is true for the sokol helicopters. recent purchases lang yan, with the contract signed during the time of pres Gloria Arroyo and the 8 aircraft (less 1, crashed and undergoing repairs) were delivered in 2011.
