Petron along barangka drive, 2-3 pesos cheaper vs Petron sa Shaw Wack Wack
For those in the know who have actually done the math, am I really saving money by getting a membership card (specifically, Landers) and using it solely for the fuel discount?
I use an average of 110 liters of Diesel every month, give or take.
I'm asking this because I have this feeling that these participating Caltex stations might be artificially marking-up the original per-liter price so that the final per-liter cost ends up not being all that cheaper compared to regular gas station prices after the discount has been applied.

for S&R.. i pay 450 for membership - 900 for business membership +1 free... so naghahati kami.. kaya tig 450 lang kami..
for computation purposes 50.00 ang gas, I get 5 pesos discount, I gas up 1T pesos per week so 4T per month.
Every week I get 2.22 liters free or 111 pesos (22.22 liters for 1T instead of 20 liters)
111 x 4 = 444 per month
444 x 12 = 5,328 per year.
I appreciate your response but this isn't what I'm after. I actually know how to compute for it..... I just wanted to get feedback from those in the know whether or not Caltex (in my particular case with Landers) is actually artificially manipulating the per-liter cost that would effectively negate a significant value of the discount?
For example, other gas station might sell Diesel for 43.00 per liter... sometimes 42.00 per liter.
Caltex (Landers) would publish their Diesel to be 45.00 per liter before discount (typically higher than most gas stations for the same fuel tier). Through the Landers membership card, a P4/L discount is applied, giving me a final per-liter cost of 41.00.
P43/L vs P41/L gives a difference of P2/L savings (just half of the P4/L savings they're advertising).
So again, the question for those in the know, do you get this impression that Landers/Caltex is pulling a fast one on us?
Last couple of times I checked, the posted diesel price of Caltex at Landers Arcovia was at par with the other big 3 stations along C-5.
In my CR-V I average 10-11km/L of diesel at 13km/h average. That's when using Shell or Petron.
With Caltex (station at Landers) in the same driving conditions I get 8.5km/L. Not sure if it's the fuel quality or if the pump is underdelivering.
So with Caltex at Landers I'm losing ~15% from fuel mileage despite saving ~10% from the discounted diesel price.
Even though I have a Landers membership I never fill up there anymore. The stations near my house sell diesel at 2-3 pesos cheaper anyway.

ang taas mag presyo ang caltex
so ang discounted price niya presyong small player so may kita parin sila
Remember ito post ko few months ago.
Ngayon madaling-araw ang bait na naman sa akin ng fuel gods.
Bale kanina around 12am papunta ako sa isang patitipon pero magpapagaso muna ako sa petron. Pero this time dumirecho na talaga ako kasi si seaoil hindi pa ulit nagpopromo.
Kasi papakarga ko the rest of the sasakyan mamayang gabi.
#salamatfuelgods
that 3 peso discount is nothing new.
the neighborhood ptt here also does it. i call it the "la lang discount".
plus, regular weekend discount of 1 peso for diesel and 2 pesos for gasoline.
lahat ng gas station sa amin (Betterliving) may 3 pesos discount din
so it would appear...
huli na pala sa balita si kags!
heh heh.
..rubbing it in...
Oo dok, pag 7 to 10pesos ang difference ni small and mid oil player eh jan ako.
Pero pag 3 to 5 lang eh kay petron na.
Mas gusto ko talaga petron, hindi madali maubos. Hindi pa pigil hatak.
pansin ko may impression mga old timer na da best ang petron
lolo ko (RIP) patronize petron only
i don't go to big 3
