the term nasusunog... is just not based on facts.

diesel engines have more precision injectors than petrol or gas engines because they use higher pressures.

consumption depends on engine demand, colder temps on the climate controls. slightly heavier foot because natatae or because highblood or diabetic. increased speed because reacting to a kamote. or simply idling more because of the traffic.

Not sure if it's because of the cheap 95 octane gas that I use with my Subaru XV, pero sabi nung SA nung nagpa PMS ako is usually daw cause ng parang may tumutunog sa baba ng car during initial acceleration is yung cheap gas. Usually daw rinerecommend nila mga customers nila na mag change brand muna and see if it fixes the issue. Any truth to this?

sa ilalim? probably not.. the combustion takes place sa itaas. also sa itaas yun camshafts which are sorta affected by bad oil. sa baba yun crank shaft na puro oil lang naman nag aaffect.

I'm getting around 10% less mileage on Caltex diesel vs Petron and Shell. Same average speed, route & conditions. Has anyone else noticed this? Butt dyno also feels a bit less power.

they probably mean, that your engine is sensitive to octane ratings. that some 95 octane fuels might be actually lower than 95, or your engine might require, ideally, higher than 95 octane fuel.. the noise is probably engine ping, which is may be remedied by using higher octane fuel.
engine ping is described in the book as the sound of marbles falling onto a metal roof.
if your engine is a boxer, the noise is not up or down, but at the sides. heh heh.

Happened to go to Phoenix at around 11am for a refill. They had a promo from 6am to 12nn where they gave a Php6.12 discount per liter on diesel and gas if you have the same name as one of our national heroes.

Glad I decided to get gas earlier.
