October 25th, 2010 12:31 AM #124I have some quick questions re Suzuki parts and service:
Can you recommend a non-casa shop that specializes in Suzuki repairs? I have a 1997 Esteem that needs some work done.
What surplus shops can you recommend that have a lot of Suzuki parts? Or maybe a shop that has the most number of Suzuki parts available? I'm looking for a driver's side door, kasi I think the last owner of my car had an accident and the door isn't "straight" and I'm thinking of changing the door na lang.
How much will it cost to replace a manual transmission with an automatic transmission in good condition? Meron ba nito sa surplus shops? How much kaya to buy, fix and install one?
I'm looking for that panel that cover the bottom of the engine bay (not sure what that part is called)? Meron ba nito sa surplus shops?
Zee claims to recondition shocks. Ok na to have this done? Is it really as good as new?
Can you find interior parts in surplus shops?

December 2nd, 2010 05:22 PM #125Hello!
I have a Suzuki Esteem 1998 AT. (hand me down car from my cousin)
My cousin's mechanic said that transmission needs to be replaced. It would cost around 28k daw.
The car is working naman, I can take short drives around Binan, Laguna. The mechanic said that it cannot manage long drives daw kasi baka tumirik. Kaya we haven't tried taking it outside Binan for now.
Now the question, where can I bring the car for a second opinion? Preferably in the South Area lang (due to the limitation of the car) sana. Or if wala talagang expert here in Binan, should I risk bringin it to Suzuki Alabang for a diagnosis?
I called up Suzuki in Pasig, diagnosis would cost me Php784 lang. Then if the transmission is really the problem, they would order it from Japan pa.
I looked over the web, a used transmission from the US would cost around US$530. I'm tempted na to order on-line if a reliable mechanic would suggest this.
I hope someone could help me on this.
Thanks guys!

Palitan mo muna transmission Fluid. UsuaLly yun nag mga problem ng kahit anong automatic na auto Kahit anong brand man yun Honda Toyota or mitsu. Try castrol atf for the oil and change the transmission filter na rin. Kung Hindi mag work palitan mo na bung tranny mura Lang naman yun sa banawe baka makuha mo less than p20k Lang. Drain mo yung bago mo linagay na ATF at lipat mo dun sa surplus na tranny na mabili mo and transplant the new filter.
Good luck

If replacement nasa 60k kms lang.

Hi PatT,
I think we've met last week sa Olympia. Nagbabakasakali ako sa surplus throttle body assembly. Unfortunately, palyado yung dalawang surplus na available. Akala ko nga foreigner ka, hehehe. Anyway, hope to see you again sa mga EBs either ng CSP or Tsikot mismo.
