Hi! Newbie here. I am currently torn between Ertiga & Spin. To make my decision making easier, may I ask for your views/inputs, please. I know there are things that are subjective but for me they still count. Please do share why you chose Ertiga over the other (if you did consider the other). I think it's wrong to ask here since this forum is for Ertiga users. So, it 'may be' bias. I considered Spin, Avanza, Innova, and Ertiga. Value for money is Ertiga plus the good reviews over the internet.

Hi, I agree with roycearellano. Pero syempre, we'll suggest Ertiga since yun naman ang unit namen. But let me share you this. Before kame magpurchase ulit ng kotse, kinonsider namen ang value for money, reliability and space. Dati akong naka Toyota Altis. So I considered the Avanza. Out ang Spin kasi mahal, and di pa naman talga subok dito. Actually magdownpayment na ko non when I saw the Ertiga sa Alabang Showroom. So I feel the same way you're feeling right now, I got torn between two cars. Kasi bago lang ang Ertiga so may doubt pa ko VS sa Toyota Avanza na matagal na dito. So what I did, I searched for feedbacks coming from real owners, yung matagal na sa kanila ang unit. So nagcheck ako ng feedback ng Avanza dito sa pinas, and Ertiga sa mga Indian website. FYI, the Ertiga was first launched in India (as far as I know). Ayun nakita ko na mas maraming reklamo sa Avanza kesa sa Ertiga. Wala namang perfect car, kagaya ng sinasabi ko lagi dito sa forum, nasa pag aalaga yan ng may ari. Proper maintenance lang ang sagot jan para tumagal ang kotse mo. So far, I am contented with my Ertiga. May nega experience din naman ako when I got the unit, pero sobrang minimal lang like nagloose yung power window, may maliit na gasgas, hindi nakabit ng maayos yung LED indicator ng alarm pero na-address sya kagad ng branch ko. Nga pala, consider mo rin dapat ang reliable na branch. Kung malapit ka lang sa Paranaque, I recommend Suzuki Sucat just beside evacom. Look for Tristan. Lumipat ako from Alabang to Sucat kasi panalo ang customer service ng Sucat. You may review my old posts here para magka-idea ka how the Ertiga performs. Hope this helps.

Haaays my 20day old Ertiga White may dent na. Nasabit sa gate. Geee It's small tho, mga one inch but na chip off yung paint. Noob here, so, don't know how to go about it. Di ako naka tulog last night. How much kaya pagawa nito sa Casa? Am from Cagayan de Oro, so, those mentioned in this forum, I cannot go. Also, am thinking na ipa plastic cover yung 'floor' niya. Is this advisable? Next yung seat cover kasi pangit ng free!

BTW, GL A/T yung unit ko then FC at 890 9.2km/L City Drive. Meron traffic dito but not as bad as Manila. I think mag iimprove pa ito after my first PMS when I reach 1000 soon. But my usual route lang kasi is home office which is just very near. 5KM away from home lang ako.

I feel you bro, natural naman yan. Di ka driver kung di ka nasasabit hehe. Ingat na lang next time. Insured naman ang unit mo so take advantage of it. I would duggest na papalitan mo panel kesa masilyahan, mejo matagal lang gawin pero atleast lata pa rin sya and if ibenta mo in the future, mabenta mo pa ng mahal. Mabusisi kasi minsan ang buyer lalo na sa mga marunong tumingin ng kotse. About your Fuel Consumption, dapat nag improve na yan. Kasi saken 700 plus km na odo ko, 12.7 km/liter na ang FC ko. Ang ginawa ko, binreak in ko sya twice, una Cavite to Antipolo vice versa. Nung Saturday, Cavite to Tagaytay/Batangas vice versa. May paahon na part dun. Basta ginawa ko hindi ako muna lumalagpas ng 80 km/hr. Plano ko para mag improve pa yung FC, pag dating ng 3000 km odo reading, saka ko sya ilagpas ng 100 km/hr, bale mag 3rd break in ako. Hope this helps.

You're welcome po and good thing si Tristan nakausap mo. I hope mapirmahan na nga para ma-experience mo na ang Ertiga. Mas maganda yung dumadami ang naka Ertiga para magkaron na rin ng high demand sa parts nya atleast di tayo mahirapan if ever in the future kelanganin naten ng replacement parts.

I don't have any of these cars but really interested in getting an mpv. if like me you're eyeing on a matic, I'd go for spin. but if not, I might go with ertiga. not a fan of diesels, I don't want their smell around my driveway heheh.

Mga ka-Ertiga, I'm not sure if possible to pero I need your take on this. Kasi naghahanap ako ng fog lamp para sa Ertiga ko, wala pa available. Nakita ko kasi parang possible naman na bumili ng fog lamp ng swift (yung bilog lang) and butasan na lang yung abang na bilog dun sa Ertiga then ikabit yung mismong fog lamp dun. Parang pareho lang naman yung size ng foglamp ng swift and ertiga. May nakita kasi ko nabibiling hiwalay na fog lamp lang na swift yung mismong bilog lang.

Sa tingin nyo ba possible yun? ipakabit na lang sa casa para di ma-void warranty/ or kung pwede ipakabit sa labas ng di ma-void warranty eh mas ok.

Hi newbie here but I have been following this thread since last month while choosing what car to buy. We got our Ertiga GL MT 2 weeks ago and we were impressed by its performance. Though the motor is a little bit noisy compared to our previous car, Honda City, we are satisfied by the smoothness of the car. My only concern is that our average FC is just between 8.4km/L to 8.9km/L with mileage at 250km++. We mostly (90%) use our Ertiga in the city (Pasay to Ayala, Ayala to Pasay). Hope our FC will still improve just like with Mang Jose. Is it really necessary to break in the car to get a better mileage? Thank you.

not to criticize but, isn't the spin AT (gas) more frugal than any of the ertiga variants? because it seems like the case based on personal reviews that i've read.

Had this experience also nun nag papa-gas ako. Un isang lalake na may kasama, nagpapagas din, bumaba silang dalawa, tinignan un mukha and un likod ng ertiga ko. Kulang na lang kuhanan ng picture. Mukha pa naman carnaper, natakot din ako, HAHAHAHHA!

My fuel consumption is deteriorating due to worsening traffic. Had a full tank and comouted my fc to 8.0km/ltr and computer says 9.4 km/ltr. Hmmmm.. Not that accurate i suppose

You got a point sir. The Spin is probably economical than the Ertiga or Avanza when it comes to fuel consumption, but I haven't read any reviews yet about the spin from actual owners. And I can't comment yet on which car in the MPV segment is most efficient since we also need to compare the maintenance cost and SRP of both cars. There's a big difference with the SRP of Ertiga, Avanza and Spin. TOTL price of each car: Ertiga GLX AT costs 812k, Avanza G AT costs 877k while the Spin 1.5 AT costs 858k. Nasa buyer yan kung ano talga ang gusto nya, if they can spend more, then they could go with the Spin or Avanza. If they are brand conscious, buy an Avanza. If they are practical, then go with the Ertiga.

Yes, break the car in as what I did. But don't exceed max speed of 80 km/hr. Kahit mag Antipolo na muna kayo, basta may pa-ahon para mabatak makina. Then wag ka mag stay sa isang gear ng masyadong matagal. Nasa manual yung break in procedure. Mag improve pa yan =).. Congrats sa Ertiga =)

Yes ser, sa pagkaka alam ko, yung FC sa computer is not accurate when you compare it to full tank method pero close sya sa numbers ng full tank method. Ayun lang kasi nata-traffic ka so asahan mo na lalaklak ng gasolina si Ertiga hehe

Sana matapos na yang traffic issue na yan sa Manila, buti na lang di nako jan nagwowork. Down south na ko si di ganun ka-bigat traffic.
