September 12th, 2014 03:38 PM #244I need some advice po regarding which to choose between the Mitsubishi Mirage HB 1.2 GLS CVT (Thailand-import) and the Suzuki Swift 1.2L 4-AT (India-import). Both are priced at 648k SRP and I'm really torn between the two. I'm a first-time car buyer, newbie, and I'm thinking of having my first car in the long-run for at least 5years. My budget is only until 650k sagad. I know this is weird as I'm posting sa Suzuki Swift thread, but your thoughts would really be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Mitsubishi has really built a brand/name here hence mas-reliable talaga. Just hoping Suzuki would catch up.
So comparing the two - equally matched up lang talaga sila and by own-preference nalang talaga sa pagpili? Any pros and cons comparison po of the two would really be appreciated. I really am going to an AT since my peers are pushing me for convenience, so the CVT of Mirage HB versus the 4-AT of Swift 1.2 will really come to play on which is better. Hope for a good comparison on this. Thanks!

We just got our DZire M/T yesterday. It is for my wifey's use while I continue to use the Fiesta sedan 1.4 M/T we got Dec of 2010. My elder brother got his Mirage GLS A/T around 2 years ago.
Allow me to share some facts mixed with my personal and therefore subjective observations.
The DZire M/T has dual air bags but NO ABS. This was not a deal breaker for us since yung dati naman ni misis na Honda City 2002, wala di naman ABS.
Wala sya power windows and power lock. Yung rims nya ay hindi mags. Dahil sa budget limitations, we will just have improvements on these things as finances allow. Bukas palalagyan na ng power locks for around 3K petot. Yung windows naman laging sarado dahil always naman kami naka aircon.
Yung beige interiors, malinis tignan pero in some reviews dumihin daw.
It was a candidate for us but the DZire won us over by:
1. Good looks - the Swift DZire managed to be distinctive compared to the almost lookalikes Mirage, I10, Picanto etc. Matangkad sya at hindi punggok ang dating.
2. Firm door closing sound. Yung Fiesta kung minsan mintis yung rear doors pag sinara.
3. Interior space - kahit sa showroom pa palang you can compare the looks of the interior. Mataas yung ceiling at the same time yung dashboard hindi nakabukol like the Mirage. Sa Mirage feeling ko I need to stretch my neck to see over the dash.
4. Classy touches - the cabin light of the DZire gently dims when you close the door. Notice the design ng face of the speedometer, simple yet elegant.
By December 4 years old na sya and so far so good.
Ganito rin siguro itong Swift 1.2 DZire.
