IMO, yes recirculating ball is popular as it offer less "kickback" in rough terrains.

Rack and Pinion is cheaper to manufacture and has better road feel on-road.
Pero ako recirculating ball pa din due to its inherently tougher nature.

Overall, R&P steering gives better road feel and steering response.
But curiously.... and please correct me if im wrong.... most BMWs, the ultimate driving machines come with reciculating ball steering right?

July 23rd, 2003 02:50 PM #6Yes, most of the BMWs still use recirculating ball. Pero yung yatang LC and other 4X4s have shifted na rin to rack and pinion. Does that mean that some car manufacturers have sacrificed the quality of their steering system in exchange for a better handling of vehicle on road?
